This sheet is not recommended for riding, it is designed to be used under a fly sheet. For a riding cover, it is recommended to use the Cashel Quiet Ride Belly Guard Horse Fly Sheet.

Used as a sling with warm water compresses to relive post surgical edema of the sheath. On the second day I could tell the horse knew it was helping him. It’s one month since the surgery and 3 weeks of daily use of this item. After tonight I don’t think he will need it anymore but if the edema returns we will go back to it.

Very well made

I purchased this Belly band for my Donkey Cher that just had surgery. She was on “stall rest” and I knew as soon as I let her outside she would roll in the dirt. The 3 Incisions on her belly are healing nicely and I didn’t want them covered in dirt . Unfortunately the “netting fabric” was too open and would have allowed dirt to get on the healing incisions. I put one of her light weight coats that has a very wide belly band that worked perfectly. Still had to remove small rocks and pine needles each day but incisions were fine. The netting would work well to keep flies off the area.

It lasted one day

I needed it for my horse because of his sensitivity to flies. Unfortunately it didn’t last 1 day. It ended up tangled up by his feet. I put it back on three more

It's definitely keeping the flies away, but I had to tweak it just a bit. My gelding has a summer sore on his sheath, so keeping the flies away is crucial. It fell off his hind end after one day, so I had to figure out a way to attach the front straps to the back. Since then, it's been pretty good. Just have to readjust and clean it. It's definitely helping his sore heal

Unexpectedly straightforward

Easy to put on and take off. Horse seemed relatively comfortable. Survived rolling. My horse was able to tear this off though eventually, but he’s very sensitive

Runs Small

Reasonably sturdy, effective. Pony can twist it into a mess when he rolls so needs to be supervised. Runs small.

Very unsafe

This belly guard is not a safe design. My horse rolled while it was on and it came off and got entangled around my horses legs. Could've been a serious disaster

This belly guard is not a safe design. My horse rolled while it was on and it came off and got entangled around my horses legs. Could've been a serious disaster. I ordered a large for my quarter horse. I contacted customer service and they were wonderful and refunded my money, I'm grateful for that.

Sheath protection from flies

This belly guard fly sheet covers the most vulnerable part of my horse - his sheath. After his recent bout of habronema, I needed something to protect his urethra. A full fly sheet wasn't the answer. My vet sent me the link for this product. It works great! Stays on surprisingly well with elasticized velcro straps. Took me about an hour initially to figure out the correct strap positioning and, after that, it was a breeze. I worried my horse wouldn't want to pee through the mesh pouch but, turns out, it was no problem. I do have to remove the sheet daily to hose it off but it's not a big deal. The fact that it keeps the flies off his sensitive spots is worth the few extra minutes to clean. Dries fast in the southern AZ climate. I endorse this product 100%, esp if you have habronema issues!

Ripped almost immediately :(

I had high hopes for this belly guard because the flies congregate in that area but it ripped almost immediately.
