The lid of this feeder is held in place with a snap so that your pet will not be able to break into it.

The feeder will automatically serve meals at the same time(s) every day once you have set the required meal times. If you're indoors the twin ice packs will keep food fresh for about 6-8 hours. If you're outdoors, it will remain cold for about 2 hours.

How long can wet food be kept in this container before spoiling?

The C500 should always be used with its ice-packs unless the surrounding temperature is less than 5°C. (40°F.). To freeze the ice-packs before use, place in a freezer for at least 6 hours. When using your C500 feeder with wet food, ensure that the food comes from a freshly opened can/pack. If the weather is very warm, you are advised not to leave wet food for long periods and may prefer to serve dry food, which has better keeping qualities.

What happens after the last meal is dispensed? Does the tray rotate back into position or the feeder rotates directly to meal #1 the next day, skipping the exposed tray?

The C500 feeder will automatically serve meals at the same time(s) every day once you have set the required meal times. For example, if you require one meal a day you need only set the time for MEAL 1 to allow feeding up to 4 days. If you require 2 meals each day you will need to set the times of MEAL 1 and MEAL 2 to allow feeding up to 2 days. You may set up to 4 meals per day. Meal times will automatically sort into chronological order (earliest to latest time) on the display. The next meal will be served at the next programmed meal time.

Nice feeder with one exception

The feeder is easy to program. The lid is secures with plastic tabs and on one side the tab does not fully engage. Not an issue for a cat but would be a problem

The feeder is easy to program. The lid is secures with plastic tabs and on one side the tab does not fully engage. Not an issue for a cat but would be a problem for a dog. This feeder however will not work for our needs since you have to program all feedings within a 24hr period of time. We had planned to use it for our cat when away.

I already owned one of these and actually bought a second because my Cat requires a lot of small wet food meals through out the day that was more than one feeder

Unfortunately, downhill from there on in. Keyed in 12:30 to have it replaced by 8:30. Multiple times. Therefore never used and CHewy is instructing me to call Merchant (Closer Pets) for replacement/refund. So disappointed!

Great while it lasted

It worked well for a year and two months, but last month it started rotating very slowly, and now it sometimes won’t turn, so we are no longer using it. Changing

It worked well for a year and two months, but last month it started rotating very slowly, and now it sometimes won’t turn, so we are no longer using it. Changing the batteries did not fix the problem. The clock ran slow by a little bit (when it stopped working the 10am meal happened at 11:50am) but that wasn’t a big issue for us because of how gradual the change was. Our cat liked it and was unable to break into it, so we would consider buying a feeder from this brand again if we found one on sale.
