Cathole Cat Door with Brush

This is going to work fine after some adjustments. The door comes unfinished which is important to know. I probably didn't read the description carefully. It's easy enough to paint and and give a coat of enamel spray paint. Cats will rub their scent glands on this as they do most anything that height, and the enamel finish is important for cleaning purposes. The directions instruct the use of four pins to hold the front and back pieces together, however we only received 3 pins. We just made do with that. You are supplied two sets of screws for securing the front and back together as well. One set for a 1 3/4 inch door and the other for a 1 3/8 inch door. My door was 1 3/8 inches but neither fit, so we had to use the larger screw set and grind off the part of the screw that punched through the back. Again, it was doable, but kind of a pain. The insert that is plastic and holds the bristles should be made to be removable for cleaning. It is not. You would have to remove the entire cat door and disassemble it to remove and clean the bristles. I can tell this will be a not so fun thing to do down the road. However, it is a cute little door and is doing it's job well. Maybe we just got an off kit? I would order one again, but I would make sure I had paint on hand and I would check the pins and screws to make sure they were all accounted for.

Easy to install if you have a jigsaw. One of our cats is fairly large (16 lbs.) and he was able to get through. I did tempt him with a piece of kibble on the other side of the door.

We wanted to close the door to the utility room. Because this product would take stain, we purchased it. It arrived quickly and was as described. The bristles on the brush are very stiff and since my little female is skittish anyway, we did not install it. It was relatively easy to install.
