Catit Airsift Cat Litter Pan, Large

The design/manufacture of the large model of this litter pan is severely flawed. When correctly assembled, the swinging door rubs so badly along the bottom threshold and sides that it would be nearly impossible for any cat to push the door inward to enter the box. Similarly, with the door hanging on the inside of the box, it would be virtually impossible for a cat to push it back outward to escape. I’d previously purchased the jumbo size Catit litter box and found that its door also rubbed an along the bottom just slightly. That problem was easily remedied, however, by propping up the top pop-up section ever so slightly. The only way to make this model usable would be to remove the swinging door entirely. That “solution” is unsatisfactory in our particular situation, however, so we have requested a refund and will resume our quest for a well designed, roomy litter box.

I had an open style litter box and my cat was tracking all over and sometimes too tall for the tray and as a result was pooping on my walls. This is a game changer!

I was excited to try this covered litter box but also a bit weary. I was excited for its odor control capabilities and that the cover would help keep litter inside the box and help reduce the smell. I was nervous that my cat wouldn’t adjust to the cover or size. However, he had no issues at all! I feel that he enjoyed this covered box for his more, ahem…odorous litter box visits. I also noticed a reduction in tracked litter (I use clumping clay litter for reference). The box is relatively easy to clean through the front flap but I noticed taking the cover off and on can be a little finicky. I also didn’t like how small this box is—I like litter boxes to be a bit roomier for my cats. Overall a good box though!
