Will this litter stick to my long haired cat's backside?

What does this litter look like? Is it like fine like sand, walnuts, corn, and sawdust? Or is it in pellet form? Does it track everywhere?

Answer by ChewyApr 21, 2025
This litter has a fine ground texture.

Will this litter work in an automatic litter?

Answer by ChewyMar 27, 2025
Most automatic litter boxes require a clumping litter, so this may be suitable. We recommend checking your litter box specifications to determine the best litter option.

does this litter have a smell to itself other than odor control ?

Answer by ChewySep 30, 2025
This litter is natural and made with coconut husk and bentonite. It does not contain added fragrance.

My one cat has allergies that seem to eliminate every type of litter except maybe tofu because I just saw that kind and haven’t tried it. I was at my wits end and then saw coconut litter and figured why not try it. It works. She doesnt get sick/sneezy anymore. It clumps and overall no odor issues. Odor control is comparable to other unscented litters that cover odor naturally. It does a good job at that. The only thing that is a drawback is that it tracks all over. But I guess the win is it’s not like walking on clay lol. I haven’t used litter that doesn’t track. maybe this just tracks a little more because it’s so light? It doesn’t matter because it works so well for my multi-cat house that we don’t have to be on the great little hunt anymore. Three happy cats and happy humans too.

Seems healthier to use, but...

So I bought this because I was worried about the chemicals used in the clumping litter from other companies. It does clump, but it takes a long time for wet litter

So I bought this because I was worried about the chemicals used in the clumping litter from other companies. It does clump, but it takes a long time for wet litter to dry enough so that it doesn’t crumble when you scoop. Also, static electricity is a problem with this litter in dry weather. It clings to things, making disposal a hassle since little particles cling to the surface of the trash bag.

Awesome product

My two adopted cats love this litter. They do not use the box with other litter if they do not have to. It is lightweight and no odor.

tiny bags and smells suspiciously of mold

One of my cats has been having really bad allergies, so I thought I'd try a new litter, even though my current one (Smartcat grass litter) has worked well for years

One of my cats has been having really bad allergies, so I thought I'd try a new litter, even though my current one (Smartcat grass litter) has worked well for years. First, these bags are tiny! I would need 2-3 of them in order to adequately fill up a Frisco XL litter box. To put that in perspective, I have two of these litter boxes, so that would mean spending about $75-110 every three weeks to change both of them. It would be worth it short term if it helped my cat get out of the allergy flareup. However, there's a strong smell of mold in the bag, so definitely not taking a chance with that!

Poor

I got this because it had really good reviews at the time and I wanted to switch from my clumping wood litter since it tracks a lot. This litter was maybe the worst I’ve used. It did not clump well which meant there was a lot of dirty litter still left after scooping. So, the smell was not well contained. My cat didn’t have a problem with it, but I did. Will not be purchasing again.

Will Not Buy Again

I won't use clay, so I'm always trying the new plant based litters that come out. This is the worst litter I've ever tried. The litter tracks horribly and the urine

I won't use clay, so I'm always trying the new plant based litters that come out. This is the worst litter I've ever tried. The litter tracks horribly and the urine clumps break up when you try to scoop it and it doesn't seem to do anything about the ammonia smell of the urine. My cats don't seem to mind it because they're still using the box that it's in, but I hate it and definitely won't it buy again.

Decided to try this with my two cats who are very picky about the litter box. I started by mixing it in with their regular clay litter and gradually adding more coconut over the course of a few days. They didn’t seem to mind it! The odor control was better than expected, but the clumps break apart and easily and it does track more than their usual litter. If you don’t mind a little cleanup though, it’s a nice natural alternative!

I have a beautiful cat but she is very picky. I was surprised has easily she took to the new litter. I was excited to try CatSpot coconut litter. I love that it is all natural. It is chemical free which makes me feel good about letting my fur baby use it. I also love that it is a natural oder eliminator so we wont have to use chemical products that could be bad for everyone. I recommend this cat litter to anyone that loves their kitties and only wants the best for them.

Odor control is fantastic

Now I have tried a lot of litters. This one has blown me away. Does it clump perfectly, no but no litter does. The dust is very minimal. And if you miss a couple days which we're human, it happens. I'm not greeted with a soggy moldy mess. Super absorbent and easy to scoop. Tracking is minimal, again no litter unless it's large pellets is going to track somewhat. But I don't notice this litter getting stuck to the cats paws or face. Yes some previous litters would leave dust all over the cat after they left. Very pleasantly surprised! As long as the quality stays the same I don't plan on swapping litters again.
