One of a several supplements that we've tried over the years with our older pony geldings to maintain their muscle mass. I really like that this is a limited set of ingredients with no fillers, and it comes packaged in a tub making it easy to use. Of course supplements take time to show results but so far haven't seen any obvious changes. This could be him eating around the supplement or just not enough time. Going to continue until this tub is finished and then maybe try something else in the range to see if it's more palatable.

Unfortunately, Cavalor Muscle Force Powder didn’t work out for us. All six of our horses completely refused to eat it, no matter how we tried to mix it in. It’s disappointing because we were excited about the potential benefits, but if the horses won’t touch it, it’s a waste of money. I wouldn’t recommend it if you have picky eaters.

We have a seven-year-old thoroughbred and a 22-year-old quarter horse. Both have different needs or excited to see how this product enhances their lives independently. This is a limited ingredient supplement, and he is still looking forward to his meals that are mixed with alfalfa and beet pulp and grain. This company generally makes quality products so I’m looking forward to seeing what results I get.

Very excited to try this product! We have two different needs. We’re trying to accomplish. We have an older horse 22 years old & A seven year old thoroughbred. Looking to maintain the current muscle, we have from the younger one and develop additional muscle and areas that he was lacking. We are excited to see how this enhances there life style and physical appearance. As far as taste, we mix it with his grain, alfalfa, and beet pulp and he seems to enjoy it!

I tried this product for my 2 year old QH filly who is starting training to help her muscle development/strength as training progresses. The product itself is quite pleasant smelling, and the powder mixes and adheres relatively well to the dry feed pellets, but, unfortunately, that's where my positives will have to end. I started with half the recommended amount to ease her into the supplement...she can be finicky, so starting slow and building up is the way to go with her...however she absolutely refuses to touch her feed of she even smells the powder residue in her feeder. Knowing a bit about her picky personality, I thought I'd try it on my 4 year old QH gelding who is a bit farther along in training and doing more demanding work. This guy literally eats anything without a second thought or regret, so I mixed half a scoop into his feed, but one taste of this and he absolutely refused to eat it, spitting out what he could from his mouth, and spent the next 10 minutes doing the flehmen response and gaping his mouth trying to rid himself of the taste. Strike 2. Finally, my daughter decided we should try it on her aged rescue mare, who is even less discerning than my gelding when it comes to food. Even she was turned off by it, doing her best to pick around it, but ended up not finishing her feed. Strike 3. Unfortunately we didn't get pics of her reactions. All in all, this product may work ok if you can get your horse to eat it....maybe mixed with sweetfeed it doesn't taste as bad? I feed a pelleted ration, so there's no molasses to hide the taste. This supplement is very cost restrictive as well. Thankfully it's not something that is given long term, because...dang! There are other supplements out there that, though they are fed long term, are equally as good and much easier on the pocketbook. Because all 3 of my horses completely refuse this (and, after all, they have the final say), I give this product 1 star for cost effectiveness and for palatability.

My quarterhorse, My Amigo is 29 years old. We recently had his annual dental care (teeth floated) and have provided a higher quality hay. He's gained weight, his attitude is great, and he's looking good! I opted to receive this product to test and review prior to seeing Amigo's health improve. I've read the instructions for this product including this statement: "We therefore recommend supplementing your horse’s diet with Cavalor Hepato Liq for 10 days before starting with Cavalor Muscle Force". At this time in his life, and with his current health being stable, I don't think it would be wise to change anything that we're doing for him. As we head towards winter, and if I see a change in his weight and muscle tone, I may give this a try at that time and update my review. If I determine that Amigo would not benefit from this product, I will donate it to our local horse rescue.

We started using this supplement for our horse that has always had trouble keeping weight on about a month ago. Around that time we switched their hay to better quality hay, so I can't say for sure whether or not it's this supplement helped her gain weight, but she is noticeably thicker. It smells sweet and just like protein powder. I think of it as her "protein shake" added to the top of her grain but I do have to add water to it or it makes her cough a little and some gets left at the bottom of her bucket. Overall I do like it.

Thought this would be worth a try for my 25 year old mare, who is losing top line. Initially, she had no problem eating the supplement, especially when well mixed with her grain. After a few days of feeding, she started walking away from her grain before finishing. Unfortunately, she will no longer eat the supplement so I can’t comment on its effectiveness. Disappointed because I really wanted this to work. May try mixing with molasses to improve palatability.

I used this on all three of my horses feed. I have two seniors who need more muscle and a new horse that needed weight. Everyone seems to like the taste and I noticed a difference on one senior and the newer horse. The only thing I don't like about it is that the product of very cakey and clumps up if you add water to their feed like I have to. You really have to mix it well. I can see how using this long term would help if you have a senior horse needing to keep muscle on.
