Nothing!

All three of my horses refused to eat this. It has hard hay pellets in it, so I tried soaking it, but they still wouldn't eat it.

This feed is thoughtfully designed for horses with sensitive stomachs, and it’s great to see more feed options emerging for horses with special dietary needs. The company even provides a helpful quiz on their website to determine if this feed might be a good fit for your horse. It’s a high-fiber mix formulated to promote saliva production, which helps neutralize gastric acids—an important feature for maintaining digestive health. The feed is also low in sugar and starch, with a blend of Alfalfa and Timothy stalks, ingredients that are generally gentle on sensitive stomachs. If your horse spends a lot of time stalled—an unnatural environment that can contribute to stress and digestive challenges—or is in a high-stress situation, this feed might be worth considering. For horses with sensitive stomachs, transitioning to a new feed should always be done slowly, but with this feed, it’s especially crucial to take your time and switch over even more gradually than with a horse without sensitivities. For horses with a history of founder, however, it’s important to review the ingredient list carefully. While the inclusion of Timothy stalks and Alfalfa makes this feed a great option for many, you don’t want to solve one problem only to risk another. Consult your vet to determine if this feed is the right choice based on your horse’s unique needs. In my experience, the feed smelled fresh, looked appealing, and was readily eaten by my horse. During the gradual transition, I noticed no adverse effects, which was reassuring. While it’s difficult to compare directly to my previous feed, I was pleased with how this performed for my horse, who has a moderately sensitive stomach but isn’t at particularly high risk. Overall, this is a well-formulated feed that seems to cater to horses in special circumstances, from sensitive stomachs to high-stress or heavily stalled environments. It’s always worth consulting your vet to ensure it’s the right fit, but this feed offers a promising option for horses needing extra digestive support.

This horse food is really wonderful. My horses love it. I feel good about the high fiber, gut soothing ingredients coming into winter. The added timothy hay is great for slowing down their eating. With a spritz of water the powder supplements my vet recommendes coats the feed and the horses readily eat it up. I am also happy that the food contains a yeast culture that further protects my horses gut.

I used Fiberforce on 2 senior horses. One, a 31 y/o QH gelding that can sometimes be very picky about his feed, and the other, a draft cross mare 27 y/o on fairly frequent drugs for arthritis and joint pain. We used Fiberforce to entice both to eat more as well as to prevent any gastric issues that they might be experiencing due to their age and the use of NSAIDS to help keep them comfortable on those occasional days that their joints bother them. They definitely enjoyed the taste, and the texture worked well for the gelding's more limited chewing ability. I've only been feeding the product for a couple of weeks, so it's difficult to assess it's long term gastric soothing properties. But, if these 2 horses appetites for the product is any indication, it must be soothing for them, they ate it with eager anticipation and it was easy for them to chew.

Our guy grazes all day and really needed something to help settle his stomach. He grazes with the cattle and seems to think he is one of them. This did the trick and straightened him out quickly. We have been using it for a few weeks and his issues have been resolved. He is back to his old self. He seems to enjoy the taste. Between the taste, it working well, and quickly, I believe we will make this a regular feed for our old guy!

This product was not as I expected. The first thing that threw me, was the different languages available on the bag. The bag was also paper and not the typical feed bag material. I also didn't realize that for my mini horse (weighing about 250 lbs) that he would need about a pound and a half a day, and because of the added molasses, was worrysome to me. This feed also has a lot of fillers. With that being said, my mini horse did enjoy the feed, though I only fed him a little bit at a time.

This is exactly what I was looking for to help with my nervous boy before riding. I give approximately 4 cups of the product to my horse before we ride to help with acid absortion and act as a buffer. He loves it. I also use it as a bribe for my horses when I turn them out at night, but it's not cold enough to put their blankets on and need them to come back into the barn 2 hours later. They are happy to come and get a helping of Cavalor Fiberforce.

Low sugar and starch option

I was a little concerned when I saw the longer fibers in the feed since I was hoping to use this for my elderly gelding who has a thyroid tumor restricting his swallowing

I was a little concerned when I saw the longer fibers in the feed since I was hoping to use this for my elderly gelding who has a thyroid tumor restricting his swallowing ability. However, the timothy fibers are soft enough that they don't bother him and seem to be easy on his digestive tract. I like the low sugar and starch aspect of the feed since he also has other issues (laminitis) that I'm hoping to avoid while supplementing his diet. He has no complaints with the taste!

This is a must have product for anyone with a horse with ulcer issues or a sensitive stomach, as well as anyone with a horse with metabolic issues that needs to gain weight! My older mare has suffered from a sensitive stomach and difficulty maintaining weight for years. I tried all the expensive treatments, which worked for a time, but the discomfort would always come back because it was not financially feasible to continue them. This product was amazing at keeping her tummy happy and keeping her in good weight. Highly recommend!

An interesting mix of feeds. It smells really fresh. I mixed it into our rescue horse's beet pulp pellet & alfalfa pellet mush. He loves it! Not only that, his stool has been the firmest it has ever been. He usually has cow pie consistency, but it's actually formed stool now. We will continue with this feed for our special older guy. I also love that it's really low starch.
