Finnegan is a 43 pound Beagle/American Bulldog mix. He has extremely sensitive skin and coat. My groomer uses the Charlie Bear brand snacks as reward. Familiar with the brand, I was excited to try their pork recipe meal topper for dogs, skin and coat support formula. I was thrilled to see a protein option that was not chicken. The packaging top has a tight freshness seal. The ingredient list is mainly familiar with healthy ingredients rich in protein, omegas and fiber. Once opened, the aroma is very robust, to be expected considering the main ingredient is freeze dried pork. There is a convenient flip-top lid . The lid is comprised of wide holes for an easy shaker application. Finn's nose went into full alert mode when I opened the container. Since introducing a new food, I went light on the serving. Because there is a 7.0% crude fiber content, I do not want to be too generous serving until I determine how the dose effects his digestion. Finnegan devoured his kibble with the Charlie Bear pork toppings. He really enjoyed it. The company is family owned, made in the USA and provides a satisfaction guarantee. The topping is certainly worth trying.

This would have been a convenient way to get some extra vitamins for skin health into my elderly Yorkie mix. She seems to have developed overly sensitive skin in recent years, so I like to give her some kind of supplement. Unfortunately, she doesn't ever approve, and this was no different. This time, she didn't even like the way the product made her food look - which really surprised me because I thought she'd love the raw meat. She did try it, but it's safe to say that my dog doesn't appreciate this being sprinkled on her food.

The first thing I like about the Charlee Bear Necessities dog food topper is the ingredients list. Chai does have sensitive skin and may have developed an allergy to chicken, so I have to shop carefully for his food, treats, and supplements. This pork version is perfect, and he loves it. I've been using it daily for almost 2 weeks and have noticed that Chai isn't having any issues with it. I buy healthy dry food and add some homemade food for his every day diet, and i think I'll be sprinkling some Charlee Bear Necessities on top regularly, trying different flavors to keep things interesting. The powder isn't too light and dry, it's more like panko crumbs. It mixes in nicely, or does fine left on top. I was wondering about mixing it with hot water to make like a broth. I like the spice shake style bottle, and the price seems about right for the quality of the product, but I do wish it came in larger bottles, as a 1 ounce bottle won't last very long. Looking forward to trying another flavor!

I am unsure how well this product will work to help hair coat and skin conditions as ai have not used it very long. I am also not impressed with the tiny amount

This 1 ounce bottle will last me 4 days. I just do not feel confident that this product will make much of a difference to my dog’s skin and hair coat.
