I have a large breed hen, a Wyandotte. Would this fit her comfortably? Does it make them too hot?

Impossible to apply

The way rhe saddle attaches to the bird requires both hands you have to press a snap connection under hens body which is easy by itself, but impossible on live

I have a hen who was getting pretty beat up by an overzealous rooster. She was missing many feathers and had one sore that wouldn't heal. I received the saddle and followed the instructions for putting it on. She was very comfortable with it on right away. She's been wearing it a week and the feathers are coming in and the sore is healing nicely now. She doesn't seem to mind it being on at all. Very good product. The little over the wings have snaps so it was very easy to get around the wing and snap it closed.

What a relief for all of us, hens, me and roosters. These well made, perfectly designed hen saddles protect my girls from avaricious advances. One hen adapted overnight. The other took a couple days to adjust, but both are confident and much happier with the protection. I bought medium and they fit an average hen. Highly recommend if your girls are under pressure.

I use these every spring and summer. My 13 chickens require the protection from my rooster every mating season. You can wash these but sometimes the snaps wear out after a year. Great Product! I only had to replace 4. I take them off after October when feathers have recovered after molting.

Sturdier than most

The hens have been wearing them for over a month and it has protected their backs from the rooster without damaging their wings at all.

This was a bit of a pain to get on the chickens and depending on your breed, I would recommend doing it later in the day or at night as they suggest (one of our chickens did not do well for the afternoon after it went on - but she’s a little neurotic). But overall they’ve been on for 2 weeks and the chickens are doing so much better!

Was not as described for size.

When positioned on a chicken, a buff orpington, it would not even reach the affected area near her tail. it is too small when on and does not provide for any adjustments

Well made

I like the holes in the “saddle”, so there is ventilation for the hen.
