Chipolo ONE Bluetooth Dog, Cat & Horse Tag, Blue

Anyone buying this to track an animal at long distance or on a gps like map, come on, really? You think you’d spend $15 and be able to do this?? The device doesn’t claim gps tracking ability. . A decent gps tracker runs at least $100 or less but requires a service for its use. You can’t buy a little really low price tag like this and expect that, and you’re not too bright if you thought so.. and to leave a bad review for a device not designed to do what you wanted is just ignorant. Trackive cat mini or larger regular size is what you want, it’s amazing for that, low cost device and decent monthly subscription. However, if you want to find your cat hidden somewhere in your home or ring them if within 200 feet of your phone this is great! If your dog is barking and you want to snap them out of it, this is great. However the tones are quite loud even on low settings, for a quick startle to stop barking or a quick locate, yes. But I couldn’t use on my cats and probably wouldn’t recommend on dogs either as it sits right next to the ears hanging in a collar and wow the tones are startlingly loud even in low. I tried the chipolo pop version as it had greater distance ability so possibly this one may have quieter tones but I doubt it. I’d recommend against it for now, I put a bug in the company’s ear so maybe lower tones in the future, but for now I’d never torture my cats with this volume of a ring. And I hope you wouldn’t either.

This chip came in a timely fashion, however, one day after activating it, the battery was dead. Now I have to go to the store and buy a new one. They did credit me $12 for the item.

I wondered for the longest if these tags worked; now I know they do. This was really easy to install and set up. It's on my cat's collar now and I can easily find him. I only wish it were a little smaller. No biggie though, I am ordering an other one for my other cat.
