Our dog was diagnosed with liver disease about one year ago, we tried several different meds to bring down his liver levels they would all start to help then stop we never got his liver values down to normal and eventually he got tired of taking pills so I ordered these and noticed he did start having more energy and keeping food down and even started gaining a little weight back but sadly it was not a miracle cure, after about 6 months on these, he took a turn for the worse over the past week was vomiting could not keep anything down and we had to say goodbye to Toby yesterday after his liver levels came back so high they were off the chart too high for the lab to read even. disappointed that these were not helping at all in the end but the vet did a scan and found he more then likely had a liver tumor that was causing his liver levels to stay so high, So I think these can be helpful in cases of mild liver disease if its caught early enough but for our dog nothing was going to help.
ordered coco and luna liver and bacon chewables and to my surprise he loves them have no trouble he chews them right up. now hopefully they will bring his elevated enzemes down we will see in three months
Probably doesn't like the taste of it. Need silymarin in her diet so I administer it as I give drugs to my dog.
Our senior dog is eating this supplement very well. We crumble it, which is very easily done, and mix it with one of her treats. We’ll have her next blood test in 3 or 4 months to see if her liver / kidney measures have improved. We would recommend this supplement.
Getting milk thistle into my lab was a fight everyday. Now, he looks forward to it as a treat.
These are very hard tablets. My older dog with kidney disease does not like them at all. I suspect it's a combination of being hard and smelling quite weird... Kind of like another product's liquid smoke "flavor." I have to hide them in something to get her to eat them. We're trying to get through this bottle in hopes it'll help a bit, but I won't buy them again.
MY VET RECOMMENDED THIS PRODUCT AND I HAVE JUST STARTED GIVING MY LITTLE SHIH TZU THE TABLETS SO I CANNOT TELL IF THEY HAVE HAD A POSITIVE CHANGE IN HER LIVER AND KIDNEY. I AM SO GLAD THAT YOUR COMPANY HAS SO MANY PRODUCTS THAT I CAN GET QUICKLY. YOUR RETURN POLICY IS GREAT AND SO IS YOUR STAFF IF I HAVE A QUESTION.
I purchased this for my sister's dog that has wacky liver enzymes. It was just started a week ago, so I cannot say if it has changed anything, but I do know her dog does not like it!! She has to mix it into her dog's food!
I bought these because it's hard to find the brand with the big blue pills and I thought that they would be nice because they are a flavored chewable. Well, my dog who would eat anything if put in front of him refuses to eat these. He'll put them in his mouth and spit them out. I tried crushing them and putting them in a little bit of a yummy food, but he refuses them even hidden in yumminess. I don't know if they help liver values or not because I just can get him to eat them. Keeping that in mind, my review is for "taste" and not actually if they do what they are intended to do or not. (will not eat the SamE either)
We added these liver and kidney supplements to my fur baby’s routine after her blood work came back with higher than normal kidney values. I am hoping for her next blood work this will have put it back in the normal range. We use the urinate tact cranberry tablet by Vita Pet Life with success. I took away 1 star because my dog won’t take this on its own, so I have to hide in wet food or slather on dog friendly peanut butter.
