She eats it, but resentfully.

My Roxy has a tricky tummy along with respiratory and skin allergies. She's allergic to chicken and sensitive to beef. Chicken causes all-over issues. Beef causes her paws and abdomen to break out. She tolerates turkey and cod, but they cause violent gas that the military could use as a weapon of mass destruction. So, we tried the rabbit, as she does very well on this protein. I love all of the ingredients in Earthborn Holistic Unrefined Roasted Rabbit. I won't put my dog on a grain-free diet, as she already has heart issues and there is no need in "poking that bear." Well, as I was transitioning Miss Roxy off of another food that was causing issues, she would eat the old food first and leave the Earthborn kibble alone. She would not touch it until right before bed and then slowly eat a piece at a time, all the while looking at me as if she is being punished and headed "down the green mile." Last night she started her 3/4 Earthborn and 1/4 the old food. She ate the old food and then ate most of the Earthborn, again begrudgingly. I notice no skin, sneezing, congestion, or gas which her other foods caused. Her little toe beans are their normal color, her eyes are not draining, her skin is bump-free. It's good food, but she just doesn't care for it. I will try a different flavor, to see if maybe that works. She's fond of Salmon and Lamb and those proteins are safe for her. But, from the reviews, it seems many dogs just don't like the taste of this line from Earthborn. They need some finicky dogs on their board of directors, and in the test kitchens, it seems.

They changed something

I was happily giving this to both my German shepherd and my border collie and both were loving it. Then one day I opened our new bag and the kibble was wildly different; different size and different color. I went online and their website says that sometimes their kibble looks different, and not to worry. But this was VERY different. I did an ingredient list comparison - all the same. Went ahead and fed it and sure enough, it caused diarrhea in one and the other stopped eating. The diarrhea stopped once my one dog got used to the new recipe (I didn't do the slow transition rule because I thought it was the same!) but the other still doesn't want to eat. I am having an incredibly frustrating time now searching for a food that my Shepherd will eat. It's expensive and time consuming and beyond frustrating. Earthborn won't fess up to a change but my dogs know. I've tried toppers, mixing with other kinds of treats and foods... he simply won't eat this food anymore. I've been trying to get him to eat for 4 bags. After over a year of wonderful happy dogs who scarfed up their food, this is a huge disaster.
