What is the gap between each bar? Could a cat get through between the bars?

The space between the bars is 2.25 inches. It may be possible for a small cat to squeeze through the bars or jump over the gate, as cats are skilled jumpers.

Is the bar spacing suitable for cats?

The distance between the bars on that gate is 2 ¼”, and we cannot say whether a cat will fit through there or not.

Can one gate be stacked above another to create a barrier for high jumping cats?

It i snot recommend to mount multiple gates on top of each other, as the bottom barrier will block off access through the entryway.

Not recommend for mini-sized pets!

The height of the gate was perfect to keep my bigger Yorkie from jumping over it, which he does with our current gates. However, the vertical bars were too far

The height of the gate was perfect to keep my bigger Yorkie from jumping over it, which he does with our current gates. However, the vertical bars were too far apart that my mini Yorkies walked through it. The Item description doesn’t indicate how many inches are in between each bar which turned out to be extremely disappointing and a waste of time because I had to return it.

For the $$, it's nothing special

This gate is just okay. Of tall gates, this is one of the more expensive ones. The other KidCo gates are USA made, but this one is made in China. It's pressure mounted,

This gate is just okay. Of tall gates, this is one of the more expensive ones. The other KidCo gates are USA made, but this one is made in China. It's pressure mounted, which would be fine except it's designed to be finger tightened only. If you want to give it an extra tightening turn with a wrench, there's nowhere to get that wrench on. You could probably wrench on the plastic finger wheels, but I'm pretty sure it would chew up the plastic. I wish this gate had included optional wall cups considering it might be difficult for some people to get it adequately tight with their fingers. While getting used to the gate, I've tripped on it a couple of times. It moves in the doorway. I wish I could get it tighter. The latch and the locking mechanism are all plastic. The locking mechanism requires two hands to operate. That could be a pro or a con, but I personally don't like it. The gate opens by lifting the gate off the latch. It's minor, but you have to center the gate and drop it on the latch to close it. It probably won't be easy if closing in the dark or while managing dogs. This gate wasn't cheap. For the price, it's nothing special.

Exactly what I wanted

I needed a gate between my living room and the entrance to my son's upstairs apartment. There's a door there and I didn't like the feeling of closing it off. This

I needed a gate between my living room and the entrance to my son's upstairs apartment. There's a door there and I didn't like the feeling of closing it off. This gate is perfect. It was easy to install, if you read the instructions. The gate doesn't seem to close at first and as you adjust the pressure points, it closes beautifully! It's high enough to keep my puppy from jumping over it and accessible enough that everyone can say hello. It also gives her time to calm down a bit so she doesn't jump as much. I'm delighted I picked this one!
