This gate does not automatically close.

Can the upper and lower pressure-mounts be different sizes? We have molding on the bottom of our walls about 1/2 inch thick.

Each spindle adjusts individually and may be extended to varying lengths (up to 1 ¾ inches each) to allow for molding, uneven walls, etc.

This gate was missing several parts and had no assembly instructions, only a slip with a number to call if parts are missing, which indicates that the company knows this is an ongoing issue and yet has not resolved it. I will be calling the manufacturer, but it is unusable in the state it was delivered.

Perfect fit without the need for tools and marring my woodwork

I am not very good at mechanical things but was able to manage quite well in installing this gate to be able to confine my two small dogs in a room if needed. it

I am not very good at mechanical things but was able to manage quite well in installing this gate to be able to confine my two small dogs in a room if needed. it is adequately heavy and strong but not so much that it is difficult to lift or adjust. I like the pressure mounts so that I don’t have to have a Workman come in and place a permanent gate that will mar my door frame. When the gate is open and pulled back, it is not obstructive and looks just fine so I have been just leaving it up and installed for now. Don’t be put off by the curving bend in the top rail with the handle when you receive the gate. The instructions could do better to explain that The bend is not a defect in the design of the gate but will straighten out as you adjust the pressure on the upper rail to make the handle fit into the lock. The only thing that seems to address this is a diagram included in the packaging which showed The band in the upper rail is OK followed by a picture of it being straightened out after installation. And as a final comment, I agree with other reviews that say that the release handle is too awkward to use because it requires two hands. When I want to open the gate I simply do as many of the other reviewers have suggested and lift the top rail of the gate in the middle right out of the bottom rail. In other words, I rarely use the locking handle. I highly recommend this gate.

Just okay.

This one is the third gait I bought from Chewy. The first one was the best. It lasted almost 5 years before it needed a replacement. Unfortunately, it isn’t a choice

This one is the third gait I bought from Chewy. The first one was the best. It lasted almost 5 years before it needed a replacement. Unfortunately, it isn’t a choice any longer. This one is no difficult to install, but the lacking mechanism requires both hands to open and to close. Also, it doesn’t lack automatically when you walk through, which is inconvenient, especially if you have something in your hand(s). I don’t understand, why the manufacturer would make the lack so complicated!
