Cool Runners Pet Tube Soft Kennel Car Crate with Carrying Case

I bought this tunnel for a cross-country move with my two cats, and it was definitely an adventure. The tunnel is very tall, much more spacious than any other carrier I found. One of my cats was very chill and curled up in a ball and slept for most of the trip. My other cat, however, is a total rascal. Within minutes of hitting the highway, she managed to BREAK a zipper and she pressed the window button with her paw opening the window ON THE FREAKING HIGHWAY! (So, heads up: lock your windows before traveling with pets.) I had to pull off the highway, scoop her back inside, and then do some quick problem-solving to block her from breaking out again. I was able to fold the zipper out of reach. Thankfully the zipper had two sliders so it still closed. Even with her claws trimmed, I kept worrying she’d tear through the mesh. I made sure to cut their claws as short as possible before the trip otherwise she would have definitely ripped the mesh. In the end, the tunnel did what I needed, it gave them room to move and reduced their stress, but the zippers and mesh just aren’t strong enough for escape artists. For mellow cats, it’s great. For little Houdinis, maybe look for something sturdier.

Great concept for long drives with my dogs, but the zipper split easily and my chihuahuas escaped the back seat on a road trip. If the zipper was reliable this would have been great.

This is a great idea. The materials of the tube are a bit flimsy. If you have a good chewer, or a dog with sharp nails? They’ll go through it. Also, it needs a couple of crate pads, or a blanket, in the bottom, to work. Still packs up reasonably well, into a thin bag. Adding a bit more durability, and a place to put a couple of base pads (not included) would be nice revisions.
