Bought these because Coolaroo offers 'replacement hardware' and Frisco does not. I really needed to replace the part inside the leg that accepts the screw... on two of my beds the plastic parts of it deteriorated (due to freezes?) and the part fell into the rod out of reach of the screw. Anyway, fyi, the Coolaroo parts do NOT include that inner part anyway! So, my bad... Anyway, the Coolaroo bed fabric is less densely woven and sags and is more attractive to chewing by my dogs than the fabric on the Frisco cots. And the Coolaroo beds have that 'please chew me' product tag on the top corner of the cot! (I removed it on the second cot, but please just take this off!). AND, the Coolaroo cots were no easier to put together (why is that last leg SOOO hard to get into place?!) than the Friscos. So, going back to Friscos (and to the hardware store to look for a part, sigh). Am I the only one who needs that inner part that the bold screws in to??!!
I bought this bed for my dog bc the stuffed beds were too hot for him in the summer. Takes some getting used to getting on the bed since it’s not a splice surface! It is quite large and definitely fits my 70lb dog very easily but it is squeaky every time he moves and he is the world’s most fragile boy so he gets spooked by it. I’ve tried tightening all the screws after assembly but it still scares him and the noise is loud enough to wake me up at night when he moves. I don’t think I’ve assembled it wrong and the large size is marked for dogs up to 100lbs so I don’t think that’s the issue. Oh well.
Bought this for my dog to use in our backyard. He likes dozing on it, especially in the summer. I use a thin crate pad on it during winter (we live in California, so it never gets really cold). Easy to clean off, I spray it with cleaning stuff and then hose it off and let it sun dry. It's been in my backyard for 2 summers now and still looks very good. I bought the Large size for my 75 lbs german shepherd/lab mix, and he fits great. A 48" crate pad fits perfect on top. Also very useful if you train obedience and need a "place"!
I wasn't sure my 90 lb dog would use this cot, so I bought a less expensive one. Not expecting much, I was really surprised at the quality. It is VERY sturdy, durable, easy to clean and doesn't slide. We also have a new puppy, who chews on the legs and the fabric and so far - no damage. Definitely would recommend this product.
My dogs revel in destroying all things fluffy and getting the stuffing absolutely everywhere. For years I’ve just given them blankets or sheets to use as a bed to avoid a fluffpacalypse, so this elevated bed has been an amazing solution! The dogs love it and I’m thrilled to have a clean and unwasteful solution for them.
OK...the first one we bought for our outside feral cat colony was pretty easy until that last screw. That one took a lot of strength to line up the hole and the screw. I provided the strength and my husband did the rest. Not too bad and I was really pleased with how nice the cot was. Since it is going to hold one or two cats at a time perhaps that's why it works well. They aren't that heavy. Well, I decided to buy 4 more to really entice the colony to use them when the ground was wet or cold. The first one went really fast and I thought "man, we are really good at this!" 18 beers later for my husband, 1 gallon of water for me along with a whole stick of Tom's deodorant, we finished with the last one. I couldn't get these cots out of my husband's sight fast enough!! He still salivates when he sees them!!! Still, with that said, for me the cots are great and the cats seem to like them. I smile when I see them stretched out on them, safe and content. Good product, challenging assembly, have beer on hand!!
It is a nice bed for the doggos to lay on outside and keep their undercarriage from over heating. I looked at the instructions for building and it said 20 minutes to assemble. I thought no way this is going to take that long. Well, I didn't fully read instructions and had to take apart and restart. Attaching the dross beams to the legs I cussed up a storm as things kept popping out of place. So yea, 20 minutes. If I was to build more I know it would be smoother and quicker. The only negative is there is a section on one of the cross beams near where it attaches to legs that there was a bit of the protective coating/paint was missing. It is something I will have to paint as it already rusting. It isn't something I should have to do but I want to keep it as long as possible. Would be a 5 star but for the rusting.
Bought after seeing it in use at the cat shelter. They seem much sturdier than other brands, so I got one. My dogs love it, they jump on it while they play and it seems to be holding up fine. Easy to clean, easy to put together.
My 30 lb Tibetan terrier is comfortable with the small size Coolaroo. So tough to put together, instructions weren’t very clear at all. Def need two people! I’m content with it it for the price though. And hoping it keeps my boy cool!
Let me start off by saying that I do like the bed in the fact that it’s the only thing my dogs haven’t destroyed. However, it has plucked the hair out of both my dogs sides to bare skin. We have to vacuum under the bed every other day to just keep up with the dog hair. We have to now pay the cost of a mat to go on top to allow my dogs fur to grow back.
