Change in product

This is my second one, this time the product has changed. The materials seem less sturdy and the chain part is longer. The quality is good, but the extra length

This is my second one, this time the product has changed. The materials seem less sturdy and the chain part is longer. The quality is good, but the extra length on the chain portion is not good for my dog, a corgi, the short legs make the chain drag on the ground. I cannot leave it on, and instead have to use supplementary collar to have something on her just in case and slip on the herm sprenger when it is time for a walk. You can adjust the prong length by adding or removing pieces, but cannot do that for the chain. I have a dog with a thick neck and short legs, so it's a bit frustrating.

We were very reluctant to try prong collars. We tried everything to avoid them, using everything from martingales to slip collars. Our girl is very excitable, and no amount of training was working for distractions, and this completely changed the game. The spokes do not hurt whatsoever, they close over a lot of surface and only feel like a gentle poke. We even tried it on ourselves. It completely stops her in her tracks and stopped the leash pulling as long as you apply pressure before the cinch makes a triangle. My only gripe is it left metal residue and smell for a while after we got it, so make sure you clean it very well.

Best purchase since owning two Doberman puppies

I've tried everything to get these two Doberman puppies to walk nicely on the leash with no success until I put this prong collar on and experience angels. No chasing after squirrels and no pulling, they even act better around other dogs. I did lots of research that led me to this product and so glad that I did.

It works!!

My dog pulls like he's chasing after a steak. I've tried a front-clip harness, gentle leader, and he still managed to pull so hard that my rotator cuff was getting aching and my frustration breaking. I saw a training video in which the trainer used a prong collar, along with some guidance on how to train a dog to walk with a loose leash. The prong collar allows the person to have better communication with the dog and to teach the dog that loose leash=more comfortable walks (no pressure from the collar). It's been a vast improvement! He pulls a lot less, though the training still hasn't stuck--he gets the hang of it, only to regress again. Still, the walks are a lot less stressful. So glad I bought it!
