How can I tell which size is good for my German Shepherd?
Answer by ChewyApr 18, 2019
To select the best size we recommend that you measure your dog's neck girth (circumference) and compare with the size chart. To measure the neck girth you'll measure around the broadest part of the neck. If the dog happens to be in between sizes it's then recommended to select the bigger size.

How do you get the loops to go through each other
Answer by ChewyJul 22, 2019
To put a chain collar on your dog, hold one of the chain’s end rings and push the chain through the ring. You have now formed the straight chain into a loop circle with both end rings touching. Put the collar in front of the dog so it looks like a horizontal 'P.' Place the resulting loop around your dog’s head. Attach a leash to the ring that does not have the collar sliding through it.

Is it tip to tip or inside chain length?
Answer by ChewyMay 20, 2019
Measurements are made from the end of one ring to the end of another ring.

on the slip collar are you measuring with the small rings only or do you measure the length using the two big rings as well
Answer by ChewyJun 29, 2019
The measurement also includes the additional length of the two O-rings.

Measurements

These are the best quality collars, by far, BUT they run shorter than the described length (noted by others). A 22" collar measures 21 1/2" from the end of one ring to the end of the other ring; a 24" collar measures 23 1/2". I ordered both the Heavy 300mm and X-Heavy 400mm collars; both superior to what is normally available; have a 9-month old Labrador puppy wearing the 22" at present. Don't hesitate to buy these, just be mindful of length discrepancies!

shorter than advertised

It's good quality, but shorter than advertised. We got the 18" length, which is only about 17.5" span to the outsides of the O-rings. It also says it's for 18" neck which is misleading since the neck opening obviously has to be less than the total length. Plan accordingly and size up.

Should Have Read Reviews

Just received this product and found out it is just enough small that it is hard to get on and off my male dog. I should have read the reviews first as a lot of them say that very thing.

Shorter than advertised

We were still able to use this but we received a collar that was several inches off in length. If my pup was any larger, it would not have worked.

Be sure to look at MM thickness

This is very thin and I don't think will be strong enough for my dog. I should have looked more closely at the thickness of the chain.

Training Collar

I have a 60 lb. Pitt Bull. This training collar is excellent. It is strong and durable. Bull is learning much quicker now.

not as shown

The picture and the video do not represent this collar at all. It is very thin - 1/4" wide. I absolutely would not recommend it. I will be returning this item.

size too small, too thin

I only ordered 2 (1) 16 inch & (2) 18 inch as I have a growing Lab puppy. Neither fit. I expected a thicker & heavier chain. This might do for a small dog but certainly not a larger breed. Now I can’t figure out how to return. I can’t find anything on the app and there was no invoice or return shipping label.

Good collar/sizing is off

Ordered an 18”, there is no way that it could be considered that size or even a 16”.

thinner than expected

My dog is large and so I needed a longer slip collar - my only issue is that I didn't realize the chain would be so thin, or flimsy. I have used slip collars on previous dogs (the ones I have are too small for my current dog) and the chain was much sturdier.
