These treats are extremely hard and cannot be softened. Although it was our natural treat of choice, one dog has only 9 teeth so we were not able to use. When we called Chewy, the wonderful gal suggested alternate treats (Milo's Kitchen) and recommended we donate the Cosmo's treats, which we did!!

These treats were a win for my dog. She was all over them and crunched it down in seconds. I like that they’re made in the U.S. with limited ingredients and no weird fillers. That said, they were a lot harder than I expected. I tried to break one in half and couldn’t. Not a dealbreaker, but it might be something to keep in mind if your dog has dental issues or prefers softer treats. Also, the bag is smaller than I thought. There were only 7 treats inside, so it’s not something I’d use daily. I might buy them again as an occasional treat, but definitely not for everyday training or regular rewards.

Overall, this treat seemed to go over well with my dogs. The bag comes with several sticks that I was able to break in half for my smaller dogs. They are kind of smelly but not too bad. I have 3 dogs weighing 4lbs, 11lbs, and 50lbs. My 50lb dog is a stronger chewer and ate her stick in less than 10 seconds - definitely not long lasting for her! My smaller dogs were able to enjoy the treat longer - the 11lb took about 10 minutes to eat a whole stick and the 4lb dog took about 30 minutes to eat half a stick. All 3 were quite thirsty after eating the sticks as they are on the drier side for treats. After enjoying their treats, they were looking for more so I think they liked them!

These treats have great ingredients and are made in the USA. I noticed the serving size is 2 inches. The size of these treats is closer to 6 inches. The only reason I didn’t give these treats a higher rating is they are so hard I struggled to break them for my 20lb dog. He seemed interested in the piece I gave him, but almost gave up eating the treat due to how hard it was. If your dog is larger and doesn’t mind a hard treat this will be great for you. However, it was too much for my smaller dog to handle.

I love that these are natural beef tip treats, it has no wheat, gluten, corn or soy. I feel good about giving my dog a pure healthy snack without worrying that it has ingredients that could harm his health. I also love that they don’t smell horrible, they don’t have a bad odor. My dog has become picky but he really loves and enjoy these treats.
