    Questionable

By JoyC on Apr 15, 2021

My birds hate corn, will not touch it. So this food seemed great. However after the first few bag's, all the bag's have had corn. I have corn growing in my bird area as they refuse to eat it. Told the company the first time it happened. They said it was just a little from the truck that delivered the oats. But there is zero corn in their horse food. The next bag came and had even more corn in it. :/ The company offered a refund and never sent it. Not getting it. My birds also no longer like peas. Plus they added more powder to the feed that my birds leave in the feeder. To costly for corn and the newer added waste. Oh and by company I mean Crypto aero and not Chewy.

    Looks beautiful!

    By My4Ladies on Apr 1, 2021

I mistakenly forgot to remove this from AutoShip. It’s the second bag I’ve received. I filled up their feeder for the week with this food. And I always give my ladies what I call a morning love mash for them to enjoy each morning. Little did I know that was all they ate all week. I looked in their feeder and it was completely full at the end of the week! I was devastated and was wondering why my egg production had decreased dramatically for the week. Though this food looks marvelous my ladies don’t eat it. I bought it for the high-quality but will not be purchasing again. I found a local source that’s non-GMO premium layer feed and I pay $18.38 for 50 #’s! SCORE!

Excellent Quality - My New Favorite!

By MrsBee on Jan 4, 2021

My girls are very pleased with the variety of grains - no waste! I've gotten great results: consistent laying, strong shells and delicious eggs. I also love that it comes in the larger bag.

    Happy chickens

By Lorrie on Oct 8, 2020

My chickens love this food so much they are laying eggs faster than I can eat them. I'm going to order more right now. The best food I have found for my chickens, not only for the number of eggs they lay but they are full of energy, talking all day, healthier than ever.

    great feed

By Wilma on Aug 31, 2020

I started feeding my chicks this food when they were about seven weeks old. In the beginning they weren’t as much as the did with the young food, so I mixed with Scratch and Peck Feeds Naturally Free Organic Layer and they love it. The chicks have grown tremendously and they look very healthy. It’s not time for them to lay eggs yet, but I like how healthy they look so far.

    They wont eat it :(

By JayR on Aug 19, 2020

I was so excited about this!! Waaaaaaaa. But my chickens are not eating it!! They scratch around in it and then run after me for food!! Also if you sprinkle it for then you loose most of that spirulina powder! Love this company- very sad its a no go for my chickens.

    Picky Chix Ate it All!!

By OaklandHenHouse on Jul 29, 2020

I've fed the girls several different types of feed in their lifetimes (pellets, crumbles, mixes with pellets and whole grains...) and they always pick out all the whole grains, leaving the pellets to oxidize in the sun. Waste has always been such a problem. Uneaten crumbles turn to dust, get ignored and have to get cleaned up and put into the compost. So I've been looking for an all whole-grain feed. This stuff is amazing. Evening the pickiest of my flock ate everything. From some of the other reviews, there is 'powdery stuff' on the grains, but I think that's the various 'meals' that are in the formula. Enough of it seems to stick to the grains that the chix end up eating most of the powder I've fed the girls several different types of feed in their lifetimes (pellets, crumbles, mixes with pellets and whole grains...) and they always pick out all the whole grains, leaving the pellets to oxidize in the sun. Enough of it seems to stick to the grains that the chix end up eating most of the powder (and there's really not much powder left), and what is left of the powder, I wet down with a little water, and mix in more feed, and the chix clean it all up together. Time will tell how their long-term health and egg laying holds up with the nutrition in this feed, but it's certainly better than when my chickens were picking through their other layer feed and not eating the pellet parts. … more

    Chickens love this

By Dmarie on Oct 11, 2020

I use this feed as a scratch, and I mix in a few meal worms to spice it up. My chickens absolutely love it!

Not sure that this is good for my girls

By OhMary on Jun 3, 2020

I love feeding the girls whole grains but when I asked if it should be fermented the answer was vague. There is so much green powdery stuff that my hens don't consume that I wonder if I am getting my money's worth. If I don't ferment are they getting the nutrition they need? Because I don't totally understand chicken feeding I don't know if I will keep on with this feed.
