How do you feed your powdered chicken probiotics
Answer by Chewy • Sep 20, 2022
It is best to add the product to food. It is ok to add to water if you are adding electrolytes to water as well.

it contains Corn Maltodextrin. Is the corn used here also non-GMO corn?
Answer by Chewy • Aug 16, 2022
Poultry Supplement is non-GMO corn maltodextrin.

is this ok for ducks too ?
Answer by Chewy • Mar 25, 2021

Helped with upset guts

I moved cross-country with my young house chicken. Her diet was temporarily cheap manna pro to tide her over until her usual food arrived at the new address. The stress of the move combined with a diet change gave her terrible digestive distress! She was having exceptionally bad smelling poops with high water content. After her typical food arrived I hoped things would go back to normal but she showed no improvement, so I set about looking at over the counter fixes. I selected this probiotic based on ingredient transparency and the fact it is served dry since I had something in her water to ward against dehydration at the same time and didn't want to mix the two treatments. Results were not dramatically immediate, but there was no change until I started using it, then a gradual recovery. Her bowel movements got less sour smelling and wet by the day. In 2 weeks time she had firm, healthy poops again and was no longer struggling. When she got stressed over laying her first eggs she got nasty butt again but as soon as I started using this once more she was right as rain in no time. She had no aversion to the taste nor a change in appetite for the worst. The only complaints I have about this are the poor instructions. It mentions using a scoop for measurements that you are not provided rendering it a useless metric, and only dosages for large quantities of food are given based on number of chickens. That's fine for a decent sized flock but not helpful for anyone with a small number of birds. Be ready to figure out your own dosages! On a more neutral note, dry means it might not play nice with pellet food or mash since it is a powder. I use crumble food only so it wasn't a problem for me. Consider using crumble when you use this product! Over all I would recommend this stuff! Just be prepared to both be patient and take notes about effective dosages for the future.

Good stuff!!

I have chickens and have had a time or 2 that they would have some digestive problems. Started using this and have not had problems anymore. Super easy to use as well, just mix with their regular food

Works and easy to use

I use this for my chickens. I mix in with their pelleted feed once a week - super easy. I used to see some vent gleet in times of bad rain, but not since using this product.

Don't recommend

Directions aren't specific, just "a scoop per 10 chickens". I have four ducks so I slightly less than halved it. Sprinkled it on their pellets but this has a texture like sugar and it just fell to the bottom of the feed tub and made a hard clump. Tried sprinkling it on their veggie treat bowl and mixing it around to coat the veggies but they hated the taste/texture and wouldn't eat it.
