Not as good as Coat Defense with protecting the wound from additional damage. The pic is Coat Defense, it makes a really good "bandage".
My 4 yr old pit has seasonal skin allergies/hot spots and this stuff works on contact. Helped stopped the itching and redness of his skin. The label has all animals pictured which means it can be used on cats,dogs,birds!! Not just horses <3
