Is this okay to use on cat paws as well?

Answer by ChewyJan 06, 2026
This product is formulated with dogs in mind, but was checked with the manufacturer's vet dermatologist, and there are no concerns with any of the ingredients for cats. That said, every pet is unique, so it is recommended to consult a vet before using any new product on a cat.

Tiller is tough. Even in her old age what she says goes. In the past I used a nice cream that is no longer available and I'm not a fan of balms as they are hard to apply. I liked the write up about this and thought I'd give it a try. We've only used it once so far but she's much more cooperative having it brushed on. I can go back after and make sure I got all the spots but getting it on is more than half the battle. She has arthritis but if even one pad is dried out, she turns into a hobbling drama queen. I noticed a difference with the first application. I think she might even let me apply this even after her pads are feeling as good as new :)

Hi, I purchased this particular paw cream because I was very impressed with the ingredient list. And, this stuff is great! Unlike most paw balms, this one is non-greasy and absorbs quickly. It does not have a strong smell. One of my miniature poodles is a senior and It is a common occurrence that senior dogs slip a lot on hard surface floors. A contributing reason for this is their dry, rougher pads which do not grip as well as supple, youthful pads. This lotion helps with that. I recommend cleaning the feet before applying this lotion but you don't have to. I have made it habit to clean my dogs' feet after every walk using the Dandelion foam and then following through with a damp washcloth. Lastly, I apply this lotion before putting them into their car crates. Cleaning your dogs feet daily ensures that they are not coated with irritants and toxins such as lawn chemical, salt, engine oil/antifreeze, glyphosate, insecticides, foxtails, ticks, splinters, etc.

Ace’s Paws Are Smoother Than Mine Now

I used the Dandylion Soft Paws Hydrating Dog Paw Lotion Cream on my dog Ace and was seriously impressed with the results. His paws went from dry and rough to soft and smooth in just a couple of uses. The formula is lightweight and absorbs quickly, which makes application easy and mess-free. It does not leave any greasy residue, and best of all, Ace did not try to lick it off like he usually does with anything new. That alone makes this product a winner. The bottle may be small at 0.6 fl oz, but you really do not need much. Just a dab on each paw is enough to keep them moisturized and feeling great. The scent is very light and pleasant, and the texture feels like a gentle hand lotion but made specifically for your pup. If your dog has dry, cracked paw pads, this stuff is a game-changer. Ace approves, soft paws and all.

This paw lotion is gentle, unscented, and works well with consistent use. I like that it’s non-greasy and easy to apply with the built-in brush, which helps avoid mess on my hands. It’s been keeping my dog’s paws noticeably softer and less dry since we started using it daily. The only downside is the packaging. If the bottle tips over, the lotion leaks into the cap and over the brush, which can get messy fast. I’ve started storing it upright in a separate container just to avoid the cleanup. Also, my dog tries to lick it off, so I usually distract her for a few minutes after applying. Despite the packaging issue, it’s an effective product for dry paw pads and great for dogs with sensitivities since it’s fragrance-free. Just a little extra care in storage goes a long way!

The Soft Paws Lotion is very effective in softening my dog's pads. It has a lovely, creamy consistency and a very soft, pleasant aroma. The canister dispenses a measured amount of lotion that is perfect for each paw. More than one squirt was too much but one per paw is perfect and it absorbs perfectly into the paw, with no apparent residue. Paw pads are softer and not cracking anymore.

This is really nice for paw maintenance. The brush is super soft and the formula absorbs quickly and isn’t greasy at all. The packaging makes application easy, especially if your dog doesn’t mind having their paws touched. I really like that my dog doesn’t seem to want to lick it off as soon as I apply it, which can happen with other paw ointments.

Hi, hooman friends and furry buddies! I’m Maxwell, a fluffy, fabulous labradoodle with a love for mud puddles and long strolls. But you know what doesn’t love those fun things? My paws! They get all dry, cracked, and ouchie after big adventures. That’s when my hooman rubbed this magical goo on my beans — it’s called Dandylion Soft Paws Hydrating Dog Paw Lotion (that’s a mouthful, and I’ve tried to eat it but they said “NO MAXWELL!”). It smells nice! Like a meadow. Or a clean towel. Or peanut butter but not really peanut butter. (10/10 sniffable). It felt squishy and cool on my paw pads. No more ouchies! My paws are now soft like my belly after a nap in the sun. I didn’t even lick it off. Well... okay, I tried, but it soaks in fast. Sneaky stuff! I have to sit still while they rub it in. Excuse me? I have squirrels to chase! They said “Don’t walk on the floor until it dries.” I left one paw print on the couch. Oops. I would recommend to all pups who love running, hiking, and jumping into things they shouldn’t.

Paw saver!

I absolutely love this lotion. My dog haates when I put anything on his paw pads - and he's super stubborn - but I want to be able to keep them healthy and free

I absolutely love this lotion. My dog haates when I put anything on his paw pads - and he's super stubborn - but I want to be able to keep them healthy and free of cracks. Even with training, I've never been able to get him to adjust to any sort of balm or lotion - until Dandylion, mostly thanks to the packaging. He doesn't mind the feel of the brush on his feet and the lotion is so lightweight that it soaks in as I brush it on, so there's no texture left over for him to object to. He still licks his paws after, but it doesn't seem to significantly affect the efficacy. I'm glad we have a solution!
