Leather crown strap is poorly designed and made

The crown straps of 2 of these pony sized feed bags broke within a week. Our weanlings paw and step on the edge of the bag while eating. The problem is stitching

The crown straps of 2 of these pony sized feed bags broke within a week. Our weanlings paw and step on the edge of the bag while eating. The problem is stitching across the width of the leather strap - tears along the dotted line. I make/repair horse tack and the stitch lines should run parallel to the length, not across the width. The box-X stitching on this bag is a pattern used for woven straps, not leather. I repaired our bags. I also don't like the stiffness of the crown - it gets in the way when filling the feed bag.

Overall I like them. Having a leather strap is nice more likely to break then nylon ones in emergency situations. If you horse eats more then 6ish lbs or soaked

Overall I like them. Having a leather strap is nice more likely to break then nylon ones in emergency situations. If you horse eats more then 6ish lbs or soaked feed the vent holes would be covered. The canvas material isnt extremely sturdy but it not weak either decent middle ground. I have a horse that paws and its been fine. My main complaint is the staining and the amount of dirt that gets suck to the bottom of them. I would buy these again compared to the nylon/mess ones

Tough, sturdy and extra large

My older thoroughbred likes it because it is roomy, she won’t eat if she feels constricted. It’s well made and holds up well.

Problem with shipping & arrival. Took too long.

Chewy really needs to look at other shippers then FED EX. They do a horrible job getting orders to customers. It takes way too long to receive what you ordered

Chewy really needs to look at other shippers then FED EX. They do a horrible job getting orders to customers. It takes way too long to receive what you ordered. Plus they literally drove right by my house and then held onto it for another 3 days. Iv talked with Chewy representatives about other problems with FED EX and shipping. This does matter to customers. For that reason I won’t be ordering anything from you again. Including things that have to be refrigerated. It’s not worth the risk.

Solid Construction

These feed bags are well put together and durable! We purchased rubber feed pans to insert as we mix our horses' grain with liquid, so that keeps the bags cleaner

Quality Feed Bag

I’ve been using these bags for a few years now. They prevent waste and keep my horses from eating spilled grain off the ground. They’ve held up well to daily use

Derby canvas bags

They’re better than the alternatives but their quality has declined from what it was when I started buying these. The bottoms used to be reinforced. Now they rot

They’re better than the alternatives but their quality has declined from what it was when I started buying these. The bottoms used to be reinforced. Now they rot through and tear pretty quickly. The leather straps hold up better than the old nylon ones with plastic buckles.
