I alternate a regular water bath one week with a dry bath with this product the next week. This has been working well for my terrier with itchy skin. This product is easy to use and leaves his coat soft, clean, and pleasant-smelling. Today he rolled in something stinky, and using Essential Mousse on that area actually took care of the stink. The price is the only downside -- it would be too expensive to use this for full baths on a large dog with a heavy coat.
My pit has had a rough go of it this last year. We kept having skin issues and ever time one cleared a new one opened. I broke down and took her to a dermatologist this is one of the products we use. I know it says it’s for in between baths but I use Douxo’s Chlorhexidine shampo and then put this on after she gets out of the tub. The vet said this product strengthens the lipid bilayer of the skin to help fight off these infections. I honestly think it works, I am so thankful I have added this product to our routine.
I found this mousse was a waste of money. It did nothing for my pup
I would definitely recommend this product, my dog is a therapy dog instead of bathing every other day. This is the product to use. It will protect their skin and a smooth coat.
My vet recommended this for my GSD, she has a tendancy to get hot spots in the late summer/fall.I was lead to believe it really moistens up in the coat and you just wipe the foam/moisture and dirt away. It is very dry going on with little moisture. It would possible take the entire container to properly bath her with it and then all the precautions around eyes, mouth, private parts. I will not purchase again. Might be great for a small dog. Even my Am Staff with a short coat it felt very dry on,
I used this on every dog getting their anal glands expressed for 3 years. It worked better then the chlorhexidine based waterless shampoo to clean after a very messy, stinky treatment. Loved it for lightly cleaning up a catheter site or light discharge from an incision. For cats with a tailhead and hind they have neglected to groom due to arthritis or obesity, a little Dermoscent Mousse for cats on that clumped area would help brush/comb it out, and leave it matt-free longer before needing attention again. Do not mix with other scented products though, such as cologne sprays. Terrible combination with cause 2 separately good scents to coalesce into a noxious fume, beware.
