Purchased this for my rescue Shepherd mix who has suffered with allergies for the past few years. She has been strictly on this food for 1 month and while it hasn't aggravated her allergies, she still needs her RX medication to control the itching. After switching her to this food, I have noticed that her stools are less firm than normal. She also does NOT like the taste. I have to hand feed her meals or else she will not eat it.
With over 30 years of dog ownership & a certified Vet Tech, I've done extensive research on dog foods. I became extremely interested in researching each ingredient down to it's source, what each item was & whether it was necessary or healthy for my dogs. Many dog foods have failed to meet nutritional & natural requirements. I'm thrilled to say that Diamond Naturals absolutely does! Consistently in every type food they sell. This Sensitive Care food saved my rescue dog who came to me with horrible skin allergies. She is now a robust, healthy & skin problem free dog! I use the Senior formula for my older dogs & the Puppy formula for my youngest. I'm the pickiest dog food mom I know. And Diamond Naturals exceeds my expectations. Thank you Diamond Naturals! And thank you Chewy for continuing to carry their products.
Our pup has a ton of issues going on and allergies are just one of them. We recently switched her to this just to see if it helped. I really think it is making a difference. Glad to find something for her so easy to order!
My girl will eat anything and would not touch this food...even one kibble was tasted and spit out...she wouldn't even swallow a single kibble. She's a Lab so Lab owners know they eat anything pretty much but this was a def no for her taste buds. I'm very sad . I would have loved to try this for her skin allergies.
Great price. The only problem is that there is only one flavor.
I changed to this for my dog since the other food got to $118.00 for 25 lbs. I was very worried that he would get sick again with his annal gland major intervention issues $800 to clear out the 5 months of infections,. but so far so good. His stool is slightly looser and not quite so condensed. He didn’t like it as much as the other from the start, but he seems to be doing fine now. No more itching then usual and coat still looks great.
I have been feeding my Golden Retriever for 1.5 years. When I began he had skin allergies, was 7 years old, and was 111 lbs. His skin allergies have been almost completely relieved, but gained a ton of weight at 4.5 cups. Hes been at 3 cups/ day for over 6 months and is maintaining, maybe barely gaining weight This food goes further than advertised.
Great for my dog's skin but she lost interest in the food only after a few weeks. Food sat in her bowl most of the day and she only picked at it BUT her skin looks great with no breakouts. Works great, just not appetizing for my dog. Back to the drawing board.
My dog is doing so well since we switched him to this food. We mis it with the diamond natural chocked for small dogs. His fur has grown back and is soft and beautiful again.
After years of my dog having a fragile digestive system--frequent loose stools, occasional horrible diarrhea, and regular vomiting--I switched her to a hydrolyzed Vet diet. It worked, which was fantastic, but it was very expensive and my dog clearly didn't love it. I slowly switched my dog to this food. She enjoys the taste and her old stomach/digestive issues haven't returned. I enjoy that it is less than 50% of the cost of the other food.
