Remember to keep plenty of fresh water available to your pet at all times.
Some pets may have sensitive stomachs and could potentially experience digestive upset from a sudden diet change. Because of this, we recommend making a gradual transition between foods. Begin with 25% of the recommended daily portion of the new food mixed with 75% of the recommended daily portion of the previous diet. Feed this blend for 2-3 days and then change the mix to 50% of each for 2-3 days. Then feed 75% of the recommended daily portion of the new food with 25% of the recommended daily portion of the previous diet for a final 2-3 days before fully switching.

Our Great Dane has terrible allergies. We've been feeding her this dog food for a few years now. She was just diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy. The first question our Vet asked was if we were feeding her grain-free. Yes, we have been. Studies are showing a grain-free dog food can contribute to certain heart related medical conditions including DCM. Don't learn the hard way like we are. We put our trust in this Company and their dog food... So incredibly sad.
This food is great. One of my dogs is allergic to all animal protein and was doing great on Royal Canine Hydrolozed Protein until it went out of stock for several months a couple of years back. We tried this as an alternative and found it worked just as well and was less than half the price! I discovered that my other dog (who is allergic to certain but not all protein) really likes it too and switched him to it too for simplicity! They both always clear their bowls and have no allergy symptoms!
My doodle was loosing his hair(we think an allergy to grass). We tried this but he wouldn't eat it unless you made a spectacle of feeding time. This has never happened. We will try something different and see how it goes.
This food genuinely saved my dog's life. He (5 year old german/Australian Sheppard) was suffering with horrible skin problems from allergies, and I found out he is allergic to a huge number of things. After some research, I found this food which is mainly composed of the few things my dog can safely eat. The only down sides are that the calorie content is a bit lower than other foods, so I have to feed him more per meal and his stools are pretty loose. But his skin is no longer scaly and inflamed, and he has energy to run and play again!! I only wish it would consistently stay in stock so I could autoship it.
We eat healthy, and we want our allergy-prone Emmet to as well. After a lot of research we settled on this product. It has the simplest high-quality protein complex that’s also not animal based (aka allergy triggers). Our 90lb staff terrier empties his bowl every time. And as a dog with some very serious skin allergies, he’s had none since he’s been on it (unlike other foods we’ve tried). It’s very good dog food for allergy-prone pups. Highly recommend! Btw, fish oil was a game changer for his skin issues too. Hope this helps!!
My Boerboel Sammy has alot of allergies. He is almost allergic to all types of meat and grain. He is a big boy(150lb) so this is a wonderful kibble for him. This is one of the few kibble foods he can eat. It's kibble so he likes it but doesn't go crazy over it. My other dogs have different normal kind of kibble and he still sticks to his food. Doesnt wonder off to try theirs. For the price and what he can eat. You can't beat it. It has that some kind of fake meat but can't tell what meat smell to it. It also is alittle bit glossy look from some kind of oil or fat. If your dog has alot of allergies, for the price you can't beat this. Do your research though because if your dog doesn't have so many allergies than I'm sure you could find a better deal.
I was trying to find a new dog food for my dog who itches a lot. Sounded like this had good ingredients. My dog won't eat it. I mixed it with the old food that she was eating, and she picked out the old food, ate that and left this. I even tried it on my grandson's dog and he wouldn't touch it. I guess I have to keep looking.
Purchased this for my rescue Shepherd mix who has suffered with allergies for the past few years. She has been strictly on this food for 1 month and while it hasn't aggravated her allergies, she still needs her RX medication to control the itching. After switching her to this food, I have noticed that her stools are less firm than normal. She also does NOT like the taste. I have to hand feed her meals or else she will not eat it.

With over 30 years of dog ownership & a certified Vet Tech, I've done extensive research on dog foods. I became extremely interested in researching each ingredient down to it's source, what each item was & whether it was necessary or healthy for my dogs. Many dog foods have failed to meet nutritional & natural requirements. I'm thrilled to say that Diamond Naturals absolutely does! Consistently in every type food they sell. This Sensitive Care food saved my rescue dog who came to me with horrible skin allergies. She is now a robust, healthy & skin problem free dog! I use the Senior formula for my older dogs & the Puppy formula for my youngest. I'm the pickiest dog food mom I know. And Diamond Naturals exceeds my expectations. Thank you Diamond Naturals! And thank you Chewy for continuing to carry their products.
