Instructions
Wet palms. Apply a pea-sized amount to your hand (use a little more for bigger dogs). Rub palms together and use fingers to spread through the coat, just like you would with your own hair products. Once evenly spread, gently massage down to skin for maximum effectiveness. Brush coat thoroughly after application to help disperse the product. Add more conditioner if needed. No need to rinse out. Allow to dry naturally or follow with a gentle blow dry. Apply conditioner after rinsing, washing or wiping. If you’d prefer to use a water-based product instead, then try our Leave in Conditioner Spray.

This is my GO TO leave in conditioner for overcoming swim itch
One of my GDSs swims up to 2.5 hours a day. Needless to say this is a game changer for him. It has a mild, pleasant scent. He was itching so badly before I bought
One of my GDSs swims up to 2.5 hours a day. Needless to say this is a game changer for him. It has a mild, pleasant scent. He was itching so badly before I bought this product and Douxo Skin & Coat SPA Ultra-Safe Oatmeal Dog Conditioner. (Also for sale on Chewy). If he swims in the morning I rinse him and put the Dog by Lisa on him. For his second swim I'll use the Douxo conditioner. Both products are truly game changers.
Not so great
Was very sticky, no matter how much I diluted it

It’s natural and it works! 💚

I recently tried the DOG by Dr. Lisa Leave-In Conditioner on my two pups, Lucy (a small Yorkie/Schnauzer mix) and Samba (a 70lbs GSD mix). This all-natural, vegan-friendly conditioner is enriched with organic coconut oil, chamomile, and rose water, designed to keep dogs' coats soft and smelling great. Lucy’s fur is usually soft and shiny but tends to feel brittle at times as well as puffy after brushing. I bathed her and applied this product on damp fur and waited for it to dry. I was surprised to find that her hair was even shinier than usual, it had some nice weight to it and she didn’t look as crazy as she usually does after a shower! I’m very happy with how well it worked (: Samba wasn’t going to be in this review initially but I decided to give it a try anyways. Her coat is very different from Lucy’s. She’s usually very sleek, shiny, and soft. After applying this product (also on damp fur) and waiting for her to dry, her coat seemed to remain fairly the same. She smells great and is still as soft as ever (: I was not expecting much on her so these results don’t surprise me. She already has a great coat. I highly recommend this product to be used on any type of pup; I would say it favors those with longer coats, but I like the fact that both my dogs have happy, moisturized coats coming from such a clean product! 😊🐾
A Show Coat Conditioner
I have two Miniature American Shepherds. I show them in conformation. Their coats are nice but can sometimes be unruly. I bathed my dogs. Let them dry naturally
I have two Miniature American Shepherds. I show them in conformation. Their coats are nice but can sometimes be unruly. I bathed my dogs. Let them dry naturally to see how their coats handled Dog leave in conditioner. The results are amazing. The conditioner doesn't leave residue or an oily feel. It is easy to apply. It smells good but is not overpowering though. I brushed it in well. Then let it do its work. The results are really nice. It took a bedhead look into a smoothed look. I like the product. A plus for me is it is made in Australia.
Good product worth a try

When choosing a leave-in conditioner for your pet, selecting one compatible with your pet’s skin and coat type is important. Cheap formulations can cause skin irritation and leave greasy residue. Dr. Lisa’s formula didn’t irritate the skin and the light, fresh and pleasant scent complimented rather than competed with the fragrance of the shampoo. Although the cream dries quickly, working it into the coat of a 100+ lb long-haired German Shepherd will take some time (making for a more enjoyable post-bath experience for most dogs). The diameter of the 16.9 oz aluminum bottle is not conducive to easy handling particularly if you have wet or smaller hands. Overall, a good product, using quality ingredients, at a reasonable price point.
Smells good
Smells good, detangles well, it is NOT greasy. I say it’s a win!

I’ve been using this product on all my dogs and so far we really like it. The smell isn’t too strong or too weak. We enjoy the smell of it and it seems to really help their coats in between baths. Only downfall of it is the smell don’t seem to last long on the dogs once you brush it in. But, overall I recommend this product for anyone that has dogs!
