Has anyone’s dog eaten the rocks out of their water bowl? This sounds great, but I know my dog would would want to play with them.
Answer by ChewyMar 27, 2018
This is safe for your pet to remove from the water bowl but should not be eaten. If your dog continues this behavior, you can keep the rocks in a container of water and fill their bowl with that container. This strategy may not work as well but is still effective.

We have 2 dogs will the product last just as long as it states?
Answer by ChewyJun 15, 2018
This preventative would still last the same amount of time if 2 dogs are in the home.

I have 7 dogs and 4 big water bowls that I empty, wash out and refill every day or every other day. I would like to try these rocks but not sure how to even begin. I live in Florida, my pups drink a lot of water, can someone give me some simple suggestions as to how to manage this product?
Answer by ChewyMar 14, 2019
First, you want to make sure you wash rocks thoroughly before placing in your pets water bowl to get any dust residue off. The rocks need a full bowl of water to stay effective, so remember to keep the bowl filled with 2 liters of water at all times, which is equivalent to half a gallon. Allow the rocks to stay submerged in the bowl for 10 hours, and replace every two months to keep the water as pure as possible.

Does this start working immediately
Answer by ChewyMay 28, 2018
Changes in the yard should appear within 3 to 5 weeks of use.

dog rocks don't work

These are soooo expensive and do not work I still have dead grass all over the lawn. No way of knowing when they are expired. So I keep adding more to the water dish. Still no help. Started using when we ordered new sod and there are brown spots everywhere. I don't understand how anyone can write a good review???

These Work

I was skeptical but desperate so I gave these a try. They do work. Consistency is key. -The water must have time to work so I bought two sets of rocks so I can stay ahead of the process. I have two pitchers that I use to let the water soak, I do not put the rocks directly in their bowl, mine would eat them:( -All water sources must be from water that has been “treated”, for lack of a better word, with the rocks. When pups would drink from their doggie pool or we would get lazy and fill a bowl from hose we started noticing yellowing spots again. -A previous reviewer suggested to bust the rocks up more towards the end of their “life” to get extended use out of them. Once again, skeptical, but I did and it works. The rocks are super hard so be careful. I covered in a thick towel, used safety goggles and did it outside. Pups do not seem to notice any difference in the “treated” water vs tap.

Worked for us

I have 2 80 lbs dogs. Have new lawn on the drain field. Dogs love to pee on the new lawn resulting in brown patches. Very frustrating. Been using the rocks for a month now and it works for us. No new dead patches of grass! I was skeptical that the rocks would work as advertised, but for us it does work. I have recommended the rocks to all my dog owning friends. Give it a try.

Bleached our wood floors

We didn’t use these long enough to find out if they actually worked for the lawn because after the first day we noticed the water that she drips on the floor left bleach marks. I didn’t feel comfortable letting our dog drink something that contains some sort of bleaching agent.

Doodle owner

We have three 40lbs golden doodle and the back yard was awful with dead spots. So what the hell gave it a try. It took a while over, a month before I believed it was the rocks . All three drink out of the same bowl, city water and it works for me. B

Works Great

Just bought my first home and within the first few weeks noticed grass dying in patches. Soon realized this was from my dog. A friend recommended these and while I was extremally skeptical I am pleased to report they actually work. No more dead spots. Instead now where my dog urinate they are greener and grow quicker (all about the nitrate levels). Would highly recommend giving these a go if you are having issues. They say to change them out every few months. I have only been using them for a few weeks so not sure on how long they last but hopefully a pack a summer works.

These rocks do not work!!!

These rocks don’t work. I had them for 2 months now and it doesn’t help. I keep 2 bowls of water on my counter with 1 rock in each over night and keep switching them after my dogs drink them during the day. The dogs won’t drink the water with a rock in the bowl. And I always have the bowls on my counter and drives me crazy. I even give them the green treats everyday but it’s not stopping the brown grass spots everywhere. I’m going to try a different green grass treat.

My dog got SO sick

Within 24hrs of using these rocks my dog became very ill with bloody diarrhea. Immediately after removing them from the water dish, her symptoms stopped.
