These bully sticks are extremely brittle, thin and shred and splinter. Don’t get me wrong my dogs absolutely loved the scent and flavor but you have to helicopter watch them while they eat these. My 70lbs Catahoula chomped pieces off like he was eating a tough piece of beef jerky and I had to keep pulling chunks out his mouth that were definitely a choking hazard. My 16 lbs black and tan coonhound puppy was also chewing right the rough the center especially at the hollow parts in addition to shredding long strips off that he kept getting caught in his throat like a piece of spaghetti. They both were able to pull them right out of the bully stick holders because of the thinness. There was also a lot of splintering on the sides because one bite down would pop off a side before their saliva softened it enough. I wouldn’t say don’t buy these bc they are cheap and dogs love them, but definitely buy with caution. The thinness makes them good for puppies but I definitely view these as an extreme hazard if you don’t watch over your pup carefully!

Good chew for dogs

These are a great chew snack for your dog. If you have a large dog (heavy chewer) it is more of a snack - but it makes a great treat!

I have 2 old beagles, one with not many teeth left. The 10 yr. old went through this in about 5 minutes. Pieces break off, and I couldn't trust her with them. The 13 yr. old lasted about 15 minutes. Being natural, they are very inconsistent on quality. Some are rolled hard, some just have pieces on them that they can break off almost immediately. The dogs love them- but with pieces easily breaking off, it's a waste of money for aggressive chewers.
