The Dr. Elsey's Classic UnScented Clumping Clay Cat Litter helps to control odors naturally without any perfumes or deodorants. It’s purr-fect for multi-cat homes and those with sifting or mechanical litter boxes (sold separately). This formula combines heavier non-tracking granules with medium grain clay to create paw-some clumps that won’t break apart. The litter also helps to keep moisture from reaching the bottom of the litter box for easier cleaning.
Always wash your hands thoroughly after handling used cat litter, as cat feces may contain Toxoplasma gondii—a parasite that can cause toxoplasmosis. Pregnant or nursing women, as well as children and anyone with a weakened immune system, should avoid handling used cat litter. Always handle litter in a ventilated area to avoid inhalation. Keep contents and packaging out of reach of children and pets. Seek medical help in case of accidental ingestion.
Instructions
Place about 3 inches of Precious Cat into a clean, dry litter box. This depth allows your cats to dig and cover their waste naturally.
Scoop out waste balls daily using a curved, slotted litter scoop. Throw away waste.
Add Precious Cat as needed to maintain three inches in the box. Always wash your hands thoroughly after handling the litter box.
Additional Instructions
Only dispose of used cat litter in trash. Do not flush, bury or dispose of it outdoors, in gutters or storm drains to avoid environmental contamination.
Not for internal use. Not meant for use as compost or as a traction aid.
Store in a cool, dry place. Product filled by weight; some settling may occur.
Transition Instructions
Pour Precious Cat into a clean litter box, using half as much as you would with a clay based litter.
Top off the Precious Cat with the litter you are using now, mixing as you add.
Give your cat time to get used to the crystal texture.
Once your cat is used to the crystal texture (about one week), empty the litter box completely into the trash, and refill with Precious Cat.

What is the major difference between this one and the Ultra Dr Elsey's litter?
Answer by • Jan 16, 2019
Precious Cat Classic is Dr. Elsey’s original litter and is very popular with cat owners who want a hard clumping, low tracking litter. It features a larger, denser particle that stays in the litter box better than fine grain litters. Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat Ultra Clumping Cat Litter is a unique for mulation that combines the heavy non-tracking granules of Precious Cat Classic with a medium-grain clay. The result is an excellent clumping litter that prevents moisture from reaching the bottom of the tray while providing a clump that will not break down, and is perfect for multi-cat households.
I have a cat with sinus issues. The respiratory relief litter does help a little, but for the quantity you get, I wasn't sold. (Just my preference, I'd highly suggest it for other users) However, dust-free and unscented is still on my list for litters. My question: would this be helpful for my cat?

This Litter is 99.9% dust free. It features a larger, denser particle that stays in the litter box better than fine grain litters.
Our cat is almost 7. I'd love to switch to a new litter (unscented and dust free). Would you recommend mixing his old litter with the new for a few days to a week or more so that he may get used to it and be more likely to use it? Open to any other suggestions too....

We always recommended transitioning your cat when going from one litter to another. Transition Instructions 1. Pour Precious Cat into a clean litter box, using half as much as you would with a clay based litter. 2. Top off the Precious Cat with the litter you are using now, mixing as you add. 3. Give your cat time to get used to the crystal texture. 4. Once your cat is used to the crystal texture (about one week), empty the litter box completely into the trash, and refill with Precious Cat.
I typically buy this brand in the ultra version and didn’t realize I was not buying the same version. I ended up buying the classic version and it is not nearly as good. The clay pieces are larger and they don’t clump as well. It seems to be more messy inside the litter box, the good news is that it doesn’t track very badly but still the ultra version is much better Unfortunately, I bought three bags of this. I’d still rather buy this than regular litters. I feel like it’s a safer brand in the cat and the kitten both like it, but it could be better. Buy the Ultra instead
