My 13-year-old good boi loves the taste of these kibbles and it also doesn't upset his stomach like other dry kibbles. He was put on Purina Pate food for his IBS about 2 years ago but was missing the kibbles. I decided to try a spoon of Dr. Pol High Protein Limited Ingredient Chicken Recipe kibbles on top of his wet food and he went nuts over it. He loves it so much! Though I was happy that he liked it, I was worried that it would upset his delicate stomach and IBS and he'd be back to upchucking his food or getting diarrhea. It's been a month and so far, that has not happened. Because there's no grain in this dry food, I think he's able to digest it without it causing mayhem. I only sprinkle a small bit on top of his wet food 2 times a day, but that makes him very happy.
One symptom FIV+ cats have is black discharge from their tear ducts. It becomes hard and can become somewhat large (relatively speaking) if you don’t remove it. Sweetie Pie is very tolerant of me using my fingernail to work it loose and remove it. Prior to Dr Pol’s cat food, I was feeding him Natural Balance. Controlling the black debris at his tear ducts was a daily task. As soon as I discovered that Dr Pol had formulated a food for cats, I was all in. I knew it would be a simple, straightforward recipe that would include what Sweetie Pie needed for his best health. After some time of feeding the DP food I began to realize that I wasn’t seeing the debris buildup in his eyes anymore. In fact we were going weeks at most times and even then the black debris was very small and usually only in one eye. I took this as an outward manifestation of the health effects that the new food was having on SP’s entire wellbeing. I attribute the remaining occasional eye debris to cat treats. Chewy has been dependable on having the food in stock. I order the 4# bag so it’s fresh when I feed him during the month. I tried feeding the DP dog food, but it’s availability (anywhere!) wasn’t reliable enough to make it practical for a 60# dog.
I had high hopes for this food thinking that if a vet had anything to do with it it would be good for the cats, My kids are not picky eaters but not one of them (6) would touch it. Expensive lesson learned. I'll stick to Purina ONE and Rachael Ray.
All 5 of my cats love this food. I had just fed the cats when the food arrived. The cats were trying to open the box and then the bags. LOL. Even the pickiest cat was eating it from my hand, and that is very unusual for her!! Thank you for carrying this food. I have not found it at my local stores.
My kitties ditched the dry food they used to gobble up. Won’t eat anything but Dr. Pol’s now. Crazy!!
My kitties love this both my kitties and one is very picky.
I was looking for a limited ingredient cat food for my picky 8 year old kitty. She took to this food and I am super glad that Chewy carries it as it isn't offered anywhere else much. It seems to be a great size and my cat took right to it as an addition between her moist food feeds. If Dr.Pol offers other flavors please carry his products we love watching him and was super happy to find he had a cat food out! Love the ingredients and super happy she likes it! Thanks Dr. Pol and Chewy!!
the food smells good, my kitties ate it for about 3 days then decided they didn't like it anymore, it is worth a try, I recommend it.
Sorry Dr Pohl, I have four cats and not one of them will even eat one morsel of this food.
Cats are pleased
