Foods Made to Match Your Pet

When shopping for Dr. Tim's pet foods, you'll notice the labeling indicates an activity level. That's because they're made to complement your pet's lifestyle, with ideal ratios of protein, fat, carbohydrates and fibers to help her thrive. You'll find recipes that are specially formulated for active pets, low-key pets, extreme athletes and those in need of weight management.

ACTIVE: This food is designed for the sporting dog that's active more days than not—dogs who hunt or jog every day, herding dogs, police dogs and the like. It's made for maximum digestion, an important consideration for these dogs that's often overlooked. Protein types and levels, fat types and levels, and fiber sources are formulated to maximize performance and recovery.

Casual Lifestyle

CASUAL LIFESTYLE: This is a diet intended for the dog who lives a normal lifestyle—sleeping on the couch, running around the backyard or going on car rides, walks or hikes and basically just living the good life. The only regular exercise she might get is tail wagging when she sees you at the end of the day, or some loving nose nudges.

Extreme Athletes

EXTREME ATHLETES: This food is for dogs who are serious about working nearly every day for long periods of time, such as sled dogs and dogs who hunt most days of the season. It's extremely high in fat, high in protein and low in carbs, with the highest levels of essential omega-3 fatty acids and loads of antioxidants. Performance, endurance and recovery are all enhanced.

Weight Management

WEIGHT MANAGEMENT: This diet is intended for the dog who has put on some extra weight. High protein allows your overweight dog to be more active, and moderate fat allows her to feel satiated so she doesn't beg—an essential part of the equation. The omega-3 and antioxidant profiles help reduce the inflammatory stress that's prevalent in an overweight dog, too.

About Dr. Tim's

As a veterinarian and accomplished musher, Dr. Tim Hunt understood his dogs' need for a food that promotes stamina, endurance and performance through proper digestion. Armed with a cement mixer, a cache of ideas, and an aversion for other diets on the market, Dr. Tim took to his Michigan garage on a mission to formulate a food that replicated a natural, wild diet for his Alaskan Huskies. Today, Dr. Tim's focus has since expanded to bring an honest, nutritionally sound food—sourced only from North America's highest quality ingredients—to every dog.

    cat treats

By ragdollcats on Jun 11, 2021

I have 3 Ragdoll cats. These treats get a half paw up from the trio. They aren't their favorite. They will eat them half heartedly.

A little goes a long way!

    By lisa104 on Jan 14, 2020

I take one piece, moisten it in a small amount of water, cut it into pieces then add a scoop of Dr. Tim's kibble. Our Boston gobbles it up! He also loves them straight out of the bag as a treat.

    I Have There Attention

By Cntrygrl on Sep 18, 2018

Most treats work for a short period then my dogs decide they are not so great. I am on my third bag and they still find these extremely appealing. I would say high value treats for my two dogs ( Jack Russell and Brittney Spaniel ). So happy to have found these. Absolutely recommend for training.

My picky boy didn't like this treat, he prefers freeze-dried liver.

    By PinkyIL on Jul 28, 2018 top1000Contributor

I can't help but know these are excellent product even though my cat would not eat them. He's very particular!

    Would not recommend

By Susan on Feb 15, 2018

These "treats" didn't smell like turkey, did not appear "freeze-dried", and my dog would have nothing to do with them even though he is on a turkey-based, grain-free food.

By Cassi on Dec 19, 2017

My dogs are very picky and don't really like many kinds of treats. They get fed table scraps at my parents house so nothing really makes them happier than that. But THEY LOVE THESE TREATS! I mean like on the verge of taking a finger off when you give it to them, LOVE them!

    Dogs love these

By mjsing on Sep 23, 2017

Dogs love these and there are no bones to have to worry about of skin. They like them so much I have to save them for special treats or they would gobble them up in seconds.

    Dog and cat approved.

    By Meg88 on Jun 10, 2017 top100Contributor

I bought these for my kitten as I like to keep his treats as close to real meat as possible and they've been a big hit with him so far. I'm currently watching two dogs and these have been very convenient to give all three of the animals at the same time. No need to open separate bags of treats!

My Raw Fed Pooldes Love This

By PoodleWoman on Feb 10, 2017

As I feed raw, it is hard to find a treat that all my poodles love, so far this is a hands down winner! Will be ordering again.
