Excellent option if you don't want grain free

Our 60lb mixed breed (picky eater) puppy is just about the age where he should no longer be on puppy food, and I spent a while trying to decide what to feed him as an adult. I'm skeptical of totally grain free food, and this sounded like a good potential option. Although our puppy is not a working dog, and the Dr Tim's food selection guide might suggest we should go with the more "house pet" variety, at some point you have to trust your instincts about your own pet. Our dog has always been both very energetic and very lean. He goes to a dog daycare once a week, and we can't count how many times a dazed looking employee has asked us at the end of the day, "Does he ever slow down?" Nope! Welcome to our extremely full lives with a large, enthusiastic, joyful bouncy ball of a dog. So... I chose this variety instead. So far he's doing extremely well on this food. I poured some into a small dish and set it aside an equal dish with his previous food, and he gave both a sniff before diving into the Dr. Tim's first. Given that he's a fairly selective eater, we breathed a sigh of relief at the first hurdle passed. Next we integrated it into his diet slowly; he's had some issues with gastric distress in the past, but this has been totally fine. We've had some issues (with his puppy food) with him getting bored at mealtimes and wandering away, but due to our other pets we cannot free feed. This food is fairly dense in caloric and nutritive value, and I feel good about him not being under nourished if he eats a smaller portion some days. All told, it's a win so far. We'll continue to feed him this and update if our experience with it changes.

I have a big Labrador Retriever (87 pounds) that trains and runs hunt tests at the Master level. I had been feeding him a premium but lower calorie kibble for his entire life. It sustained him but he needed four cups per day, all at one feeding. I calculated that Dr. Tim's Pursuit gave him the same number of calories in three cups so I switched. After a couple of weeks I came to realize that though his calorie intake remained the same he was actually gaining a little weight. This tells me that the calories in Dr. Tim's are more usable. We trained for four solid hours today on land and in water. Not only did he not slow down, he hardly showed fatigue when we were done and was eager for more retrieves. We are still on our first bag but so far I'm really impressed.

My two boys devour this stuff. Both are very active sportng dogs and when I feef them they both are done eating in about 2 minutes and licking their bowls. I used to feed them Wellness grain free food, but wanted to add some grain back into their diet because of the concern with DCM. This food has not only done that but also shown other benefits. Energy has increased, playfulness increased, and their coats look more shiney. Overall very happy with this food and the bag rolls down and stays rolled for a great seal. It's also micro perforated to keep the dog food from developing mold which is awesome. Highly recommend. I'll be sticking with this food. Plus it has a Brittany on the bag. Ha!

Less Gas issues!

After trying a few major brands of grain dry food with 4.5 to 5 star ratings on multiple sites, this is the first one my Chesapeake Bay retriever is not having gas

After trying a few major brands of grain dry food with 4.5 to 5 star ratings on multiple sites, this is the first one my Chesapeake Bay retriever is not having gas issues from (or losing weight). She was prior on grain free food for many years with no noticeable issues, until her blood work showed she had low taurine. This required switching to a new grain type dry food, which required much researching for a good one that didn’t upset her stomach. However my Toller, had no digestive issues with any of the brands I tried, so much will depend on your individual dog. So don’t give up finding the right one for your pal! Try to figure out which of the top 3 ingredients might be causing issues. For mine - sorghum or a high % of oats bothered her but brown rice as a 2nd ingredient instead was helpful. While this one does also have oats in it, it’s further down in the ingredient list and after contacting Dr.Tims to find out the percentage - it was low.

We switched from grain-free to this after much research. Our young rescue 18 month old pup took right to it. We did the old to new transition and had no issues. No gas, some soft stool at first then all was good. We also changed proteins from just turkey to the chicken/fish mix in Pursuit, so we think that may have contributed to the soft stool. Now we are almost done with the 40 lb. bag and our 55 lb. girl has a nice shinny, soft coat. Good energy too. Wish the bags were resealable.

Dr. Tim is a vet and a musher who knows what it takes to fuel a dog. This kibble is a medium-sized nugget with a rich aroma. Grain-inclusive, but no peas or pea parts. 30% protein, 20% fat, and 450 calories per cup for great energy. My two Dobes love the Pursuit (wet or dry) and I have added meat/eggs/canned with it also. Very affordable for two dogs that need over 2000 calories a day. Dr. Tim is also very available, and answers phone calls and e-mails promptly.

I started my German Shorthaired Pointer, Max, on Pursuit about 6 months ago. I had tried many different foods and could not keep weight on him. Plus that, I had to coax him to eat. Not with Pursuit! Max finally eats well, is at a good weight and has a beautiful, shiny seal-like coat. In fact, he just got his first points towards his championship! And I am happy because I know I am buying a product that is produced from high quality ingredients. Thank you for adding Dr. Tim's to the brands you carry. Jen

I had been feeding my dog Fromm for some time and chewy quit carrying it. Thought I was going to have to switch to another site to get it. Chewy offered a really good deal to try some other quality brand. I'm glad I did because now my dog loves Dr. Tim's. I put Fromm in half the bowl and Dr. Tim's in the other half and he only eats the Dr. Tim's. Thank you Chewy for working hard to keep my business. No need to ever change where I buy from. Great customer service !!!

It's taken me a while to figure out that higher quality food is actually cheaper than, oh, say Kibbles n' Bits. Since I made that discovery in my adult life and adopted my lovable, now 93 lb. "mushy-face," I put a few brands to the test. He drools so much over Dr. Tim's Pursuit that my kitchen floor becomes as slippery as ice. The consistency of his stool and stink of his flatulence has improved considerably from his puppy days of eating a competitor's brand. One 44 lb. bag (in addition to alternative food sources: plain yogurt, treats, fish or poultry, and the occasional egg or two) lasts about 2-3 months. That increment is a give or take number dependent on his activity level. He averages 2-1/4 cups per day.

I switched from a very well known brand to Dr. Tim's Pursuit. A couple of fellow dog enthusiasts encouraged the switch with the results they saw in their own dogs. It has only been a couple of weeks since I made the switch. Dogs love the food. Stools are small and right indicating that the dogs are absorbing all the nutrition in the kibble. Coats are beginning to gain more luster and shine. Dogs have sustained energy!
