Foods Made to Match Your Pet
When shopping for Dr. Tim's pet foods, you'll notice the labeling indicates an activity level. That's because they're made to complement your pet's lifestyle, with ideal ratios of protein, fat, carbohydrates and fibers to help her thrive. You'll find recipes that are specially formulated for active pets, low-key pets, extreme athletes and those in need of weight management.
ACTIVE:
This food is designed for the sporting dog that's active more days than not—dogs who hunt or jog every day, herding dogs, police dogs and the like. It's made for maximum digestion, an important consideration for these dogs that's often overlooked. Protein types and levels, fat types and levels, and fiber sources are formulated to maximize performance and recovery.
CASUAL LIFESTYLE:
This is a diet intended for the dog who lives a normal lifestyle—sleeping on the couch, running around the backyard or going on car rides, walks or hikes and basically just living the good life. The only regular exercise she might get is tail wagging when she sees you at the end of the day, or some loving nose nudges
EXTREME ATHLETES:
This food is for dogs who are serious about working nearly every day for long periods of time, such as sled dogs and dogs who hunt most days of the season. It's extremely high in fat, high in protein and low in carbs, with the highest levels of essential omega-3 fatty acids and loads of antioxidants. Performance, endurance and recovery are all enhanced.
WEIGHT MANAGEMENT:
This diet is intended for the dog who has put on some extra weight. High protein allows your overweight dog to be more active, and moderate fat allows her to feel satiated so she doesn't beg—an essential part of the equation. The omega-3 and antioxidant profiles help reduce the inflammatory stress that's prevalent in an overweight dog, too
Treats That Deliver
Dr. Tim's freeze-dried treats are formulated for both cats and dogs—perfect for multipet households. They're made from 100% real, USDA-inspected meats from Wisconsin. And since they're freeze-dried, you can give your pet all the nutrition and flavor of raw meat without any of the mess or inconvenience.
Top It Off With Nutrition
Dr. Tim's Flavor Booster is made of 100% real, USDA-inspected beef liver powder from Wisconsin that is freeze-dried to maintain more nutrients. It's perfect for use as a food topper to encourage pets to eat and enjoy their meals, which makes it a great choice for finicky dogs or those who are ill or tired of the same formula.
About Dr. Tim's
As a veterinarian and accomplished musher, Dr. Tim Hunt understood his dogs' need for a food that promotes stamina, endurance and performance through proper digestion. Armed with a cement mixer, a cache of ideas, and an aversion for other diets on the market, Dr. Tim took to his Michigan garage on a mission to formulate a food that replicated a natural, wild diet for his Alaskan Huskies. Today, Dr. Tim's focus has since expanded to bring an honest, nutritionally sound food—sourced only from North America's highest quality ingredients—to every dog.
Largest they make is 24 lb bag. This is a better question for the manufacturer. You can email or message them and ask if they plan to make bigger bags.
Looks like the ingredients include dried porcine plasma, which is a sprayed on dried pig blood product. I have just started reading up on it- is this product safe and healthy?
Answer by • Jul 04, 2019
Plasma is rich in important vitamins and minerals such as vitamin B12, calcium, phosphorus, sodium, chloride, potassium and magnesium. Research with dogs has shown that the inclusion of plasma in dog food results in improved digestion and decreased fecal output.

My Pug Lost 5 lbs on this! My dogs love this high quality dog food!
I have tried so many dog foods for these 2 dogs. I rescued a cane corso/Rottweiler mix when she was 5 weeks old and she had chronic skin and digestive issues. Not all the time, off and on. My pug has a cast iron stomach, but I have to be very careful about what he eats or he’ll turn into a pugtato. They have both been on prescription diet food for weight loss. The most expensive food at Hollywood Feed….they’ve tried it all. I actually tried to taper them off of Dr. Tim’s, because it’s gotten so expensive, onto Blue Buffalo weight control and they both had some reactions to it. My pug had a severe outbreak from the Blue Buffalo. I cannot put a price on the wellness of my dogs, so I immediately put them back on Dr. Tim’s. My pug was 34 pounds a year ago and now he weighs 29 pounds. He was so overweight my vet couldn’t even put him to sleep to clean his teeth and remove 4 of them and he couldn’t walk around the block. He lost all of his weight on Dr. Tim’s and now he can walk a mile every day. He’s so much more playful, he has a lot of energy, and he was able to get his teeth cleaned 2 months ago! He did have 4 removed but I don’t think he misses them and it certainly doesn’t impact his ability to chew dry dog food. Now my rottie/cane corso mix has lost 2 pounds so far and she has had a beautiful, thick coat of fur come in for the winter. Now I did notice my pugs poo is pretty solid on this food. I add a scoop of Native Probiotic powder to his food once a day mixed with some broth and it does the trick. And my rottie corso’s digestive issues have been so much better since she’s been on Dr. Tim’s. No more runny poos!

Great Quality Dog Food
Our vet wanted both of our dogs to lose weight. They had been on Dr Tim's Pursuit. Even though it's also a great quality dog food, it wasn't the right dog food for senior dogs. We switched to Dr Tim's Weight Management Metabolite Formula. Both dogs loved the food as much as the Pursuit and they lost weight. Our vet was impressed with the weight loss of both dogs and they both had achieved their goal weight. We now have them on Dr Tim's Kinesis Senior Dog Formula to maintain their weight and they love it too. We've tried a lot of different brands of dog food over the years and Dr Tim's is by far the best. It may be a bit more expensive, but It's worth it knowing I'm feeding my fur babies high quality food they love.

A really good food
I have three dachshunds and one of them has pancreatitis, so I to feed them all the same food to make my life a little easier. They have been eating Hill's prescription diet for over a year but I wanted to add something to breakup the monotony of the same food. I tried another low fat food, and they all enjoyed that, but they wouldn't eat the special bits in the food and I would find them all over the house. Looking for low fat food, I came across Dr. Tim's Weight Management and decided to try it. The pups love it. I will add Dr. Tim's to my auto-ship from now on.

Powdered cellulose
Food drops weight for sure when you are feeding ground up cardboard. Decide what's best for your dog. Read the ingredients.

Serves the intended purpose
Our 86 lb. American Foxhound / Doberman mix needs to lose 8 lbs.
To create more food volume we are mixing Dr. Tims lower calorie formula with a decreased amount of her higher calorie kibble. She fills up more for the same calorie count. She is tolerating the mixture, but has no interest in eating the lower calorie kibble by itself.
For now it serves the intended purpose, but we will not be switching entirely to this formula to achieve her weight loss.

Very happy
My 6yo female Airedale weight 128lbs when I started her on Dr. Tim’s 3/22. She is now 97lbs. Her Vet is extremely happy with her progress and so am I. She is like a puppy again with so much energy and a little sassy too.
