Is the ingredient phenoxyethanol synthetic or organic?

The phenoxyethanol that Earthbath uses, along with all other commercially viable phenoxyethanol, is synthetic, but "naturally identical". This means that it has the same chemical structure as that found in nature. Phenoxyethanol does occur in nature in green tea and chicory for example, but unfortunately, not in high enough levels to make it commercially viable if extracted.

He can be such a messy little guy and I like how the scent knocks down odors & doesn't linger for too long on his fur. The packaging seems good at this point as well.
