This stuff is amazing. We have a three legged cat who is missing her back leg. Her skin gets very dry in the winter and without our help she can’t scratch one side of her face. Her dry skin really started last year and she was having these strange uncontrollable head bobbles. We took her to her vet, the ER, a neurologist and no one could figure out what was going on. We kept telling the doctors that the bobbles stopped once we scratched that one side of her face so it must be linked to the dry skin. But no one really listened to us. No one had an answer. They said we could try a dermatologist but we couldn’t really afford another specialist. We wanted to exhaust our options before going that route. So we went to a local pet shop and the woman there recommended giving this product a try. It worked perfectly. No more head bobbles! The shea butter must be the key ingredient because it’s immediate relief for her. I highly, highly recommend giving it a shot if you’re in a similar situation.
Purchased this due to another person loving it. I usually order the coconut bath and they smell soooo good. This didn’t have a pleasant smell and left a oily sticky residue on my cats fur. Yuck. Will not use again. Sticking to our favorite brand with coconut water
No way would I be able to bathe this cat! I used the foam on our newest rescue who we'd treated for fleas, lice and awful dandruff. On top of that, he'd been living in wet dirt under a deck. This foam was no less than amazing. As expected, it's taken several tries, but he's an extreme case. We've used the wipes before, so knew we could trust this too.
I loved this product it was easy to put on and smelled great
I worked it through her coat twice thinking I just didn't get it well enough the first time. But on her it smells really bad. It doesn't smell bad by itself which is why I'm so confused... When I towel and air dry her coat it is really soft though, and the smell lessens. She doesn't smell bad BEFORE, and regular water/bathing she smells fine. why does she smell so bad using this?
I give my sphynx cats baths once a week and they hate water. Gave this a try and unfortunately it didn't work out. It did get them clean at first but left a sticky residue so they ended up being dirtier within a couple hours.
My cat has black gunk in his paws and will not tolerate a bath. I dip his paws in a bowl with water and a few pumps of this, and it seems to be clearing up. I cleaned the rest of him with a wet facecloth and a few pumps of the foam. Works a lot better this way. I've only used twice, but I can see a difference already.
I have been using this for a few years with good result. My cat is elderly and has trouble grooming properly sometimes. I work it in by hand, gently towel off any excess and let it dry. Once dry, I brush him. This lasts us for a few weeks. Hope this helps others troubleshoot issues noted in other reviews.
I like this product because it does a great job cleaning the fur and doesn't have a strong perfume smell. I agree with the other reviewer about the results if using as directed. I've modified how I use it and it works great! Also, I only use it to clean the outer layer of fur, not totally working it in like you would if you were shampooing your head. I put a few pumps of this onto a soft washcloth, crumple it into a ball and wet it a little. My goal here is to freshen her up without getting her totally wet, so I squeeze most of the water out and wipe down her body, even inside her ears. Then I rinse the wash cloth, squeeze out most of the water and wipe her down, then give her a little once over with the hair dryer so she doesn't get a chill (she's 20, so the last thing I want if for her to get sick). Her fur is clean and soft, and she smells so clean without it being too much.
Our rescue kitty has the habit of not grooming his back for some reason, even though he can very well reach it. In order to help him maintain a clean fur, we've been looking around to find a non-bathing solution, since he's really scared of water, and if possible, we'd like to spare him the stress. I had high hopes for this foam, since it would make application much easier than the other waterless shampoos we've tried. However, instead of cleaning the fur, I have the feeling that it makes the fur even stickier. At first I thought I had applied it wrong, but it says "rub on, let dry, towel off". That just doesn't work. The stuff dries, and the fur looks and feels very grimy. There's clearly a heavy residue left behind. I also tried it a different way; rubbing it on, leaving it in just for a minute or two, ant then toweling him off right away. The same result. I have no idea if maybe I have gotten a bottle that has gone bad (if that can happen at all), but I don't understand where all the raving reviews about this product that I've read on several sites are coming from. I don't think I will purchase this product again.
