This worked to calm down my lovebird from pulling out his feather. I use it as directed & he's doing better
I have two German shorthairs which are bird hunting dogs ,and I have an African Grey parrot .I have had this breed of dog for over 25 years living peacefully with my parrot(s) , along with other small animals . The dogs are taught and learned since puppies that the birds and small animals in the household are family ,but our one dog will pick up the parrot (Taz)if he flies and lands on the floor ,I do not cut my bird's wings ,German shorthairs have soft mouths ,meaning they do not bite down on when they have birds in their mouths . I got this to try for Taz when my grandpuppies come which one is a poodle mix and the other a husky mix ,which the poodle mix is barky and loud and the husky tries to get taz ,and my human grandbaby & toddler come to visit . I normally leave Taz's cage door open when we are home with my dogs with no issues during the day time ,but can not when grandpuppies/grandchildren are visiting ,which stresses Taz out while they are at my house between the barking and yelling which he is not used too and not being able to come out of the cage when ever he wants ,he yells the whole time and says over and over Out ,which I can not do ,so I seen this and thought I would try it ,I have been giving it to him sprinkle on his evening mix of fresh fruit/veggies and the first day I noticed a difference ,since I had the grandkids for a week ,Taz did not yell as much ,I continued to give it to him that whole week and it has helped him ,I do got to add it has only been one week so far so not really sure if this is really helping or he learned when little people and yapping dogs are in the house he stays in his cage ,I will continue for a little longer and will update in about a month or so .
My Macaw was friendly to me, but would bite ME when someone else came near. She was also prone to very loud screaming at various times of day. I tried this as a way to calm her a little, but figured that I would have to hide it in her cooked food. Turns out, she loves it all by itself. I either put it on the ZuPreem, Cooked food, or by itself. She eats it all ways. It has also lessened the issues with biting and screaming. Since my Macaw only gets 1/4 tsp daily, and its a large container, I won't have to buy it again for a while, but it is now a mandatory add for her daily diet.
This works great during the spring for my hormonal macaws. I have a blue and gold, and scarlet. The get feisty every spring and this is a life saver!
I bought this hoping that it will keep my bird calm. No it does not work. Use it for two weeks now and still the same. I love my bird and she is very needy. If I leave the room she yells. If I touch something that she things its harming me she bites. I wish I can return and get something better.
Used on my bird and followed the instructions but made his aggression worse and screams more than usual.
I have 6 birds: a dove, a cockatiel, a budgie, a rose breasted cockatoo, and 2 green cheek conures. My cockatoo and GCCs are all over 20 years old now. My GCCS absolutely cannot stand being caged. They never have. They refuse to play with toys and always want to be held all day, which isn't possible. One of my conures cries for several minutes to nearly an hour at a time to be held. My other will sometimes join in. My cockatoo has lately been refusing to come out of her cage during her free time. My dove has some aggression issues with his BFF - the budgie. My cockatiel and budgie are fine. No issues there. Out of worry for my GCCS and cockatoo, I bought this powder to add to their food at night because that's when they eat the most food. The very next day after adding this to the GCCS food, they were absolutely quiet. There were only about three times they cried to get out & be held. And those cries lasted only about 5 minutes. Typically, they cry for several minutes right before it's out of cage time. They didn't even do that! I'm absolutely surprised at the difference! My cockatoo still won't come out of her cage. However, it hasn't been that long that she's had this supplement. My dove seems calmer but did have one aggressive outburst last night. If this only works for my GCCS, it will be worth it. I honestly don't mind the crying, but I know the constant stress they feel is not good for them.
I was really hoping this product to work. It didn’t do anything my caique still screams. We’ve tried a lot of techniques they all fail.
I have been giving this to my 4-year-old African Grey Congo for about 5 days and have already noticed a HUGE difference. She's doesn't screech anymore and from what I can tell so far, she has stopped mutilating her feathers. She still sings and is super happy. I don't get the sassy, screetchy, loud bird anymore.
The container was busted open when I opened the box. I’m very upset. I wasn’t even able to use it, due to being concerned that it was contaminated.
