EQUI-JEC 6 is an equine vaccine that has been shown to be effective against shedding due to EIV and against viremia, mortality, and neurologic clinical disease due to WNV. For the vaccination of horses 4 months of age or older, including pregnant mares, against eastern and western encephalomyelitis (EEE & WEE), west nile virus (WNV) and tetanus, and against respiratory disease due to equine herpesvirus type 1 and 4 (EHV-1 and EHV-4), and equine influenza virus (EIV). The duration of immunity against EIV is at least 6 months and against WNV is at least 12 months. The duration for the remaining organisms has not been determined. No need to order syringes or needles as the pre-filled syringe contains a convenient 1mL vaccine. Consult your veterinarian if a booster shot is recommended as a result of your geography or travel routine.

I'm concerned that this vaccine will make my two horses sore and feel yukky for awhile. Is this common? I plan to give them in the low buttocks. That has always worked well for me

Where do I begin? First and foremost, I would like to thank you for being so professional and caring. I received my package today. I wasn't home to receive it; I was a little concern if the package would survive the heat. Let me tell anyone that's reading this. When I finally reached home, the package was sitting on my porch. My first thought was " Oh Geesh!" how long has it been sitting there in this heat. I picked up the box, into the kitchen I went. As faith would have it my little 4 pounder decided at that moment, she had to go potty. Ok, a minute or 2.. no she wanted to play in 97 degrees weather. 20 minutes later, I'm finally back in the kitchen ready to open the box. When I open the box, OMG! the ice packs were still frozen in the middle. I don't think you understand, most companies, pack with 2 little kid size ice packs. Chewy packed with 4 adults' ice packs. At that moment, I smiled and said, " Look at Chewy showing off." It may seem small to some but based on my past experiences with other companies Chewy is top tier for me. Big shout out to CHEWY!

I don't like giving multiple vaccines in a single shot, because I have seen horses get very sore and under the weather for several days. I had heard good things

I don't like giving multiple vaccines in a single shot, because I have seen horses get very sore and under the weather for several days. I had heard good things about Equi-Jec in that department. I gave my two horses their vaccines in the low buttocks area in the early afternoon and turned them out for the evening. They seemed normal the next day with no swelling at the injection site. I gave them Banamine paste the next day and rubbed Sore No More on the sites, just to be kind. They were slightly stiff behind that afternoon, but on the 3rd day I was able to ride both of them. I was relieved and pleased.
