My toy poodle Riley loves playing fetch with a squeaky ball, and I thought I'd give these a try. He's got a small mouth, and what I loved about these is that they're a little bit smaller than the standard ball (2" as opposed to 2.5"), and compress easily, making it ideal for a dog with a smaller mouth. The squeak comes from air whistling out of a hole, as opposed to a plastic squeaker, so that appealed to me as well. The only thing I would note is that the ball is made of somewhat thing latex, and if your dog is a big chewer, they may not prove to be particularly durable; it only took my poodle about 2 days to destroy one of them. But as long as you keep an eye on it, they're a great option for a small dog.

I had had issues with some of the balls as they only last a few minutes, strong Westie eye teeth. I believe this latex is thicker than the others I have had. It came frozen, no squeeze or squeak and once it thawed realized it is thicker than past balls I ordered and has squeak! I am saving for Westie to unwrap on Christmas. He will be so thrilled! He even uses the others without the squeaker, that's how much he loves these little balls.
