Weak ring on Martingale collar
I had purchased this collar and gave it to my daughter for her Blue Heeler pup. Today, while wearing this collar, my daughter's 30 pound heeler pup Ran towards her other dog to play and reached the end of the leash before she reached the other dog and the ring snapped. Also, no correction was made, it broke just because the puppy ran and came to the end of reach. I would not recommend this collar. The dog is safe but this could have ended badly.
not full grain leather
This is a disappointment quality-wise. Was hoping it would live up to the description, but did not.
disappointed
I bought two and one seemed to be manufactured poorly because where it was tied the third rods already starting to fray on one of them… The second one I bought for my other dog has held up perfectly but the one that came with a little poles didn't survive. I think it's made right it's a great color I think I might've just gotten a manufacturing defect in one.
Way too big!
This collar (large) is way too big for my dog, who uses a 22" chain collar. It measures almost 29-1/2" fully extended and when you slide it down to a good fit, I think it doesn't look right with all the leather overlap. Good quality and nice look, but size down!
Nice so far
Got it for my Great Dane, seems like sturdy construction, leather nice and soft. The hardware is light we will see how it holds up.
Do not recommend
Only had this collar for about three weeks and it had split in the leather. Do not buy.
Well Made Collar
I was pleased to find a martingale made with the chain style release. Extra small is hard to find. I would have given it 5 stars if it had been available in a quarter inch width for the extra small size. The width on this collar makes it a tad heavy for an extra small dog.
turned my dogs white fur gray
The collar appears to be high quality but after only a few months of wear the nickel plating wore off and now it turns my dogs white fur gray! So disappointed.
Size Chart incorrect material is cheap
SIZE DOWN. I bought a size large for my 8 month old growing Bernese mountain dog who is 60lbs and according to the size chart the large should fit perfectly, however it seems the size is based off of when you pull on the collar not when you tighten it and simply put on the collar. It's way too big for my girl when tightened all the way. Unfortunately we will have to wait at least 1-3 months before using this collar as it falls too low on her neck to use right now. The quality is also lacking to say the least and it also does not have a buckle which is odd for day to day use. I should have seen it doesn't have a buckle so that is on me but all in all I definitely do NOT recommend this martingale collar.
