Not really burgundy

It's more brown than burgundy... also, if you have a smaller dog and you're in between small/medium, i would suggest sizing down. I have a frenchie and I didn't want it to be too small so i went with a medium. It definitely fits and is not too big, but I think a small would have worked well, too, and not been as wide.

no buckle, only slips

So this is most likely my fault. I thought there was a buckle with this. The slip is not easy to move to make the collar fit appropriately. I have a martingale from Kong that buckles (which of course he has outgrown) and that is so much easier to use. The Kong actually "snaps" in like body harnesses and mountain packs fasten. Unfortunately, I got this Kong from another place and didn't see anything large enough on the Chewy website that would do all that I wanted - I looked after I received this collar. Anyway, just be careful when you are looking at the pictures as it can be tricky and you can see something that isn't really indicative of the product.

Ideal for worlds 2nd strongest dog

Perfect for any 100 lb Cane Corso. Their bite is stronger than any Pit Bull, Doberman, Shepard, or Wolf. Strength of an adult male 3x the weight of the dog and they are still armed with big teeth and the ability to run and jump. The collar is a tool and the owner is the operator. These are good collars. You can pay more. Its your choice but you have to train the owner and the dog. The collar is no auto pilot or good doggy answer to behavior issues. A toy poodle can chew through leather so put the collar on correctly and learn how to use it effectively. The owner is two thirds of the equation and the collar is one third. If a Martingale collar is not helping then seek professional help and be prepared to introduce a Herm Sprenger prong collar. Some dogs are quick learners and we get lucky. Then there is the 10 month old wild child puppy. Been there with two of them in heat. Pretty soon they will drop a load or six on the dining room floor or your bedspread out of defiance. I raised both painfully defiant and wonderfully compliant Corsos, Mastiff, Shepards, Rottweiler, Dobermans and a dozen mixed breed dogs. Little male dogs seem to be cute and affectionate, but they are bullet proof A holes on training until they are clipped. Had Chihuahua, Bischon and Maltipoo. Collars don’t help the excess hormones in tiny bodies.

No clasp or buckle

Like another reviewer said, it it my fault for not examining the collar before purchasing it.. but you can only put this collar on by slipping it over their head. It is also very hard to adjust the collar’s size especially if it is on them. I got an XS for my puppy and it was great. Worked well and looked good. However, because she’s growing, she grew into it and I could no longer slip the collar off of her head. I had to cut it off her neck. Just keep that in mind when purchasing

Broke after a couple weeks

I loved this collar at the start. It’s hard to find a collar that doesn’t slip off my sheltie’s head. Unfortunately this broke within a couple weeks of use. Thankfully we were at our front door and not out on our walk. They need to make the chain stronger.

Slips a little

Have had the collar for 6 months and the adjustment slips to be too loose. Also, the metal chain has discolored.

WONDERFUL we're obsessed

If you're currently walking your dog with a harness and they're being a total nut, then you need to switch to this collar. It makes it so much easier to communicate with your dog! Corrections are so minor, and they will check in so much more often. Our wild pup is now walking with a slack leash thanks to this collar! 10/10

This collar lasted a whole 3 weeks

I have a very strong willed puppy with razor sharp tee-eeeth, she has chewed through most every collar and has been difficult to train. I tried this collar and it simply wasn't big enough or strong enough for my 10 month old pup. I'm off to find something stronger... good luck on your purchase!

Sizing completely off

I ordered this collar for my staffy with an 18" neck. I ordered the M because it states the size is from 15"-18". This collar was huge on my boy and for that reason it didn't do the job it was supposed to. This is after sizing as small as it would go. The smallest it went had to be about 19". The material is nice and good quality, just a heads up for anyone going to order this collar... Probably best to size down. As always chewy is amazing with returns so thank goodness for that!
