Reptiles are susceptible to skin and bacterial infections if cages and housing are not kept scrupulously clean. Their fecal matter carries bacteria, such as Salmonella, that can also contaminate humans. Terrariums, furnishings, and the cleaning equipment itself need to be regularly cleaned as well as periodically disinfected and sterilized.
Remove the contents from your terrarium. The best products for cleaning your herp's habitat are those specifically designed to be herp-safe. Otherwise, use plain soap and water or mild dishwashing detergent carefully diluted. Be sure to rinse all surfaces with hot water until all suds are gone, and do not use any products that contain phenol or pine scent. After washing, you must also disinfect and sterilize all surfaces with chlorine or ammonia. However, both chlorine and ammonia are highly toxic to your herp, so exercise absolute care to remove all residues before replacing your pet in its newly cleaned home. Be sure to thoroughly clean all equipment, sponges, buckets, and sinks to prevent cross-contamination. To minimize the danger of Salmonella infection, wear gloves and protective eyewear as you clean your reptile's enclosure.

I got these vines during a good sale. I put a couple of them in one snake's 4x2x2 enclosure, and one in a snake's 3x1.5x1.5. I got the large vines, so idk if these are more difficult to twist like some photos show, but I did have some trouble doing so. I ended up twisting the ends some, and formed some abstract bowing shapes with the 2, interconnecting them at a point and anchoring somewhat in substrate and hides. The vines rest on the back of the enclosures as well. They really add some climbing space as well as structure to hang other items on, such as fake plants!
They are really useful for vertical terrariums. Good size
I had to give 4 stars. Due to the fact that I wish that it had came with something to hang the vine up. Will need to find zip ties to hang up in my snakes habitat. Other than that its strong and sturdy when I twisted the vine together.
Looks decent enough but I really dislike how the texture flakes off and leaves a somewhat tacky rubbery surface. I'd hoped the wire would help support a piece of mopani wood and reduce how much I would have to silicone down in my crested geckos habitat. Bent in half and twisted together got me some nice heft and quite a decent looking vine. But after all of that manipulation some areas look a bit bare and I'm honestly not sure how confident I feel using this in my habitat. I should have skipped this one.
I love this. It is rough for easy grip and aids with shedding. It is pretty cheap and well made in my opinion. My crested gecko loves climbing on this vine
I have this for my crested gecko tank, he loves it. it provides a nice stucture both to climb on and hang other plants and decor off of
My hermit crabs are loving climbing on this branch. Great addition to the habitat.
The outer coating is made of little bits of what seems to be dried rubber, which come off when you rub it with your hands. The texture is very sharp/rough and I’m worried my snake won’t use it or will get scratches from it.
We added these to our iguanas terrarium and they are definitely a favorite. He is constantly on them and ignoring the other decor now. We will be buying more as he gets bigger I do prefer these to be braided together.
It looks nothing like the pictures advertised and has such a rough and uncomfortable texture that I would not want my reptile touching, in addition to that it doesn't seem very well made.
