Are these safe do Quaker parrots to chew and build with?

Answer by ChewyNov 10, 2025
Apple Sticks from Exotic Nutrition are made of natural apple wood, which is non-toxic and safe for most small animals. While they’re formulated and sized for small mammals like guinea pigs, rabbits, and rodents, apple wood is also generally safe for parrots, including Quaker parrots, to chew and play with. However, since the product is designed for small mammals, not birds, it’s best to supervise your parrot during use and avoid letting them ingest large pieces. They can safely chew or use the sticks for building, but the product isn’t specifically marketed for avian enrichment.

Not a favorite

Skippy usually enjoys apple sticks, but for some reason, he did not latch onto these. I was disappointed.

Exactly what I was looking for, but

none of the bunnies would touch them. I give the product 3 stars for being as described, but I offered these apple sticks to 4 different rabbits, and none were interested

Chinchilla likes these

Like to have these to give my new chin when he returns to his cage after playtime. I break them in half and he grabs it and runs. They always seem fresh and not

Great for my devotchas

My rats love these. I freeze them for a few days to be extra cautious. Great size and good value. Great to have on hand.

Didn't work for us

Are gerbils are not touching these Apple sticks. I don't know if they are meant for other animals, but the description said that gerbils would like them. Unfortunately

Hamster is warming up to them

Hamster has chewed a couple of these, but is still getting accustomed to them. They are in good condition and I'm happy.l
