what is the capacity of the saddle bags and are the saddle bags waterproof ?

The Small size has saddlebags which measure 8 x 6 inches and can hold hold 4 liters. The Medium size has saddlebags which measure 10 x 8 inches and can hold hold 7 liters. The Large size has saddlebags which measure 12 x 9 inches and can hold hold 10 liters.
I have a Norwegian elkhound and she is about 45 - 50lbs.. would the medium be the best size for her?

The sizing chart may be located by clicking the “Size” tab, next to the “Description” and “Instructions” tab, just under the product photos. To select the best size we recommend that you measure your dog's chest girth (circumference) and neck girth (circumference). To measure the chest girth you'll measure around the broadest part of the rib-cage behind the front legs and to measure for the neck girth you'll measure at the broadest part of the neck. If the dog happens to be in between sizes it's then recommended to select the bigger size.
can you remove the packs?
