It will stay attached to the harness

As long as your dog can't slip out of their harness, this will stay attached. My dog seems okay with this. It keeps her in place, though it does usually make her

As long as your dog can't slip out of their harness, this will stay attached. My dog seems okay with this. It keeps her in place, though it does usually make her sit up. She did wiggle out of this and her harness one time. And another time she accidentally pressed the seat belt button and got free. Use with supervision.

cost effective

This works. You just need to make sure the seatbelt inertia reel isn't locked and your dog should have plenty of ability to move around. You may need to feed a little

This works. You just need to make sure the seatbelt inertia reel isn't locked and your dog should have plenty of ability to move around. You may need to feed a little slack into the lap part of the belt once latched for bigger dogs, but it should work fine. Five stars if it came with instructions.
