Questions & Answers

does Friskies have any sugars?
Answer by fvOct 26, 2022
To clarify, this isn't Friskies. This is Purina: Fancy Feast. Two separate brands. But to answer your question, yes. Friskies cat food does typically add unnecessary sugars. Thankfully, this product (Fancy Feast by Purina), doesn't appear to have any outstanding sugar content upon a look over the product information. I hope this helps.

Makes my cats psychotic

My cats LOVE this food. But it’s not a healthy kind of “love” it’s more of an addiction a heroine user would experience when craving their next high. My cats scream every 3 hours for this food and it’s extremely frustrating as they are fed 3 times a day… we have 2 cats so the cost of supplying their addiction adds up very quickly. I’m trying to supplement with some high protein dry food mixed in with the wet food so they’ll be fuller longer but at this point I don’t even think they’re truly hungry; they just have this craving that cannot be satisfied therefore leaving them borderline mad. Consider your sanity before buying this food.

No more Fancy Feast for my babies

I have had my Lucy for over 12 years, and my Polly, 9 years. Their whole lives I have given them Fancy Feast, various varieties like this Gravy Lovers and the ones with Cheddar. They have always eaten it without issues. Well, Purina has done something to these foods over the last several months. What used to be 60 cents a can in the supermarket is now $1.70 a can for the 3 oz cans. And they are using lower quality ingredients. My cats won’t go near this. I bought this box and opened it tonight. I gave them the Gravy Lovers Turkey, which they used to devour, they wouldn’t touch it. I dumped it and opened 2 cans of the beef. The beef used to be a dark brown color, with a rich dark brown gravy. Now the “beef” is a light grey color with a runny sauce that looks like chicken gravy, it’s a light tan color. And it smelled AWFUL. The cans weren’t compromised, and have an expiration date of 2025. They wouldn’t touch that either. I had to dump that as well. I am done with Fancy Feast!

Cats used to love but have been throwing up

I’ve been feeding this to all my cats for about 7 years and they all love it. They get one can of this and some dry. Lately the last few orders, not all purchased from chewy, but same brand, have been making my cats vomit within 30 minutes of eating the wet food. If I go days or weeks with only the dry food, there’s no vomit. But return the FF wet, and vomit. It sucks bc this brand is my go to for decent wet food that cats typically eat consistently and is affordable. I don’t know if the quality has changed or ingredients, but it’s not an instance of bad batch at this point.

Something is wrong with this food now!

A few months ago this food my cat has loved for years all of a sudden became runner with smaller bits in it and the beef changed colors and smells. The last two boxes we started going through have started causing my cat to vomit and have diarrhea. Stopped giving him this food immediately and his system is doing better now. Something is wrong with their recipe change and needs investigation before more cats start having health issues! I would avoid this food now at all costs for safety!

Something changed

My cats used to love this stuff, but something changed and now they don't like it. I noticed the color of the food is different, the morsels and gravy look the same for all varieties so I don't know why they bother labeling it chicken, turkey, beef.... it all just looks very poor quality visually and something is up with the taste because my cats turn away from it when they used to gobble it up. I am disappointed in Purina.

Good food great price

Yes I do call this the McD of the cat food world BUT when you have picky cats you can't be changing brands all the time or risk upsetting their gut this food is the best! So many different flavors and styles my cats can have what they'll eat without tummy upset. All this and less than 25$ a case of 24 cans (sale prices can save you even more)

2 out of 5 liked it

Have 5 cats, they all seem to like the Hartz Delectable Stew, so thought would give this a try. Only two of the five liked it, and they mostly just lick the gravy up and leave the chipped up food. I can sprinkle magic dinner dust on the food and they will eat it, but they seem to just prefer mostly the gravy.

Meeeewow-weee!

When I open the back door and call out "here kitty, lets eat", my two boys come running, lol! Sometimes Edsel (my red male) will jump over Toonces (my tuxedo male) to get in the house first. They both love Fancy Feast. I've tried a couple other brands of wet food on them but Fancy Feast is their Favorite!

THEY LOVE GRAVY

All 3 of my cats from "just turned" 1 year old to 10 years old LOVE this cat food. Having said that, know that it's the extra gravy they adore - just a few bites of the actual food gets into them. It's all good - I'm happy when they're happy.

Yuk!

Even before I opened it, it looked as if someone had thrown up on it. Then when I opened it, it had a lot more 'stuff;' Looked like more throw-up, but with seeds (???) It was pretty disgusting, but luckily, once I had washed the cans, it was OK inside. I took a few pictures, but don't know how to post it.
