Will this work regardless of the surrounding temperature? Meaning to ask: if the water is already 75 degress, will it still heat the water to between 100-110 degrees?

The product is designed to be thermostatically controlled to maintain water temp approximately 100 degrees to 110 degrees.

Whelp... I mean, it does what is says it does!

This works! A little too well (lol). I bought this to heat an 8 gallon chicken waterer. I figured even though this was rated for a 5 gallon, it would serve our purposes,

This works! A little too well (lol). I bought this to heat an 8 gallon chicken waterer. I figured even though this was rated for a 5 gallon, it would serve our purposes, as the chicken waterer was indoors. However, it made the water sooooo piping hot, it was not drinkable for the chickens. Literally, hot to touch! So, keep that in mind for whatever your needs are.

Poor name choice

This thing gets insanley hot. I put it in a water bowl for my cats about 5 gallons and steam boiled off when the water hit it. This is for a stock tank or larger

Be aware this bucket heater heats the water even if it's not freezing temps. It will not shut off if the water temperature is above freezing. I put it in on a warm

Be aware this bucket heater heats the water even if it's not freezing temps. It will not shut off if the water temperature is above freezing. I put it in on a warm fall day without any freeze in the forecast thinking it would only come on if the water temp was at or near freezing. It is on almost all the time holding the water temperature at around 110F I think it will be great once winter is in full big chill but don't plug it in until then. After reading the box, it says it will hold water temp between 100-110f and it is doing that.
