I don't have a horse but I do have five pets that hang out on old leather couches. I use this saddle soap and the Leather New step two restoring, for couches that have to put up with cats and dogs and the leather itself has had no TLC from me for years. These are much more affordable than "furniture" care products I found and would highly recommend anyone looking for a similar situation.

Excellent glycerin based saddle soap. Will drastically prolong the life of leather. It makes cleaning tack far easier and faster, as well as less messy because it creates an easy bypass for the bar soap and bucket routine. Little to no residue, it may rub a bit of color onto white breeches but I have yet to find a leather treatment that doesn’t.

GOOD STUFF

I have used liquid glycerine for more than 50 years to keep my horse tack supple and like new. I now use it for my shoes and purses to keep them from drying out

I have used liquid glycerine for more than 50 years to keep my horse tack supple and like new. I now use it for my shoes and purses to keep them from drying out and cracking. Leather new is the best stuff you can use, in my opinion. It may darken some leathers but, I find the deeper shade is very rich looking and over time it will lighten up some. I use it on my Dooney all weather leather (pig skin) purses and it keeps them looking great!

Cleans and conditions at the same time and keeps my horse tack looking great. Chewy is always great with their deliveries even during this pandemic. But the only issue I have found getting liquid products delivered is over the years, that half the time they are usually leaking when they arrive. Easy enough to clean up but not sure why the products still seem to leave even though they appear to be packaged correctly.
