is there a monthly fee

A subscription gives you access to the full capabilities of your dog's Fi collar - allowing for remote access to your dog's location and activity. The cost of the subscription covers the GPS/LTE connection to your dog's Fi collar. Without a subscription, the Fi collar will still function - but if your dog wanders outside the range of your smartphone, base or WiFi, they will not be able to locate your pup. It is highly recommend purchasing a subscription if you’re worried about your dog running off.

Is this collar compatible with a Verizon phone?

The collar will act as it's own cellular device on the AT&T LTE-M network to transmit the collar's GPS location to the servers and your app. The mobile carrier you use doesn't matter - your smartphone can be on any cellular network to use Fi.

GPS/LTE subscriptions include a free 30-day trial. Prior to purchase, we recommend first checking to make sure there is AT&T LTE-M coverage around your home or in any other area where your dog may spend time.

I thought it was a great idea, having 2 dogs I found it too expensive to continue paying with no multi dog discount. Fi does not have a phone number and does not care about the product after the sale. My only saving grace on this product was chewy. They took care of what FI would not even respond to. Unless you are willing to pay a lot of money monthly or annually for monitoring, get an air tag, sew it in and enjoy!

Honestly I’m seeing all these reviews about how it broke or something messed up. I have never had any problems with this collar. Had it over and year and let me tell you it is a lifesaver. True they could make it update a little earlier but at the same time wouldn’t you rather know where your dog is going than not know at all. All the other tracker collars are $250 $300. They aren’t really worth it for the fact you can tell they are tracker collars. What if someone finds your dog and has bad intentions? The Fi collar doesn’t throw off tracker collar unless you closely inspect it. Save the money and get this collar!

We've had the Fi collar for close to a year. Pros: Durable App easy to use Good battery life App warns you when battery low App warns you when pet has left the geofence Cons: In lost dog mode, it only updates every 2 minutes. Here to tell you that my Pyrenees shepherd mix could practically run a half mile in that time. It's simply unacceptable to not offer real time every 5-15 second GPS updates. Sharing 1 account across 2 cell phones leads to notifications only pushing to one or the other. Would be great for both owners to be able to see what's going on. Price is steep for the lack of real time monitoring when pet is lost. Summary: we are going to try another brand and see if it does any better.

I was very pleased with my Series 2 collar, so when the "new and improved" Series 3 was released, I upgraded based on claims of better tracking and three month battery life. I am getting random alerts when the dog is within her safe zone, no alerts when she leaves the safe zone. The battery drops to 20% within two weeks. The tracking is no more accurate than the Series 2. Customer service directed me to various troubleshooting games, then declared "we are working on code updates". If you have a Series 2, keep it.

Works great! Peace of Mind!!

I’m not sure why Fi has so many bad reviews… I’ve had this collar for a couple years on my Husky and purchased another when we rescued a German Shepherd recently

I’m not sure why Fi has so many bad reviews… I’ve had this collar for a couple years on my Husky and purchased another when we rescued a German Shepherd recently. Unfortunately, we had to activate lost dog mode for the first time a few days after receiving the second collar. But fortunately I found both dogs within five minutes and didn’t have to guess where they were. As soon as I activated lost dog mode it gave me an update every minute where they were. I didn’t receive an alert right away when they escaped from the safe zone around our house but when I emailed Fi asking why, they responded right away with detailed information from the collars in addition to how the collar interacts with GPS, the phone, and the charging base/Wi-Fi. As it turned out I realized within the first minute of them leaving the safe zone around our house that they had escaped and activated lost dog mode before it was able to update the collars location. I was just so happy that it actually worked when I needed it most and luckily recovered both dogs safe, and quickly within five minutes.

zero customer service

This company has literally no customer service. It’s almost impossible to talk to anyone at all other than one email where they tell you sorry we can’t do anything

This company has literally no customer service. It’s almost impossible to talk to anyone at all other than one email where they tell you sorry we can’t do anything for you if anything has occurred over 30 days of purchase. The GPS collar itself works pretty well sometimes delayed on its information but if you’re just counting your dog steps to know that they’re getting enough exercise than this is a good collar. if they get out he can give you a general idea of where they’re going or headed but it’s not always good connectivity or live time.

dont buy whatever you do

I wish I would have known what a waste of money this was. Customer service also atrocious. My collar kept falling a part and customer service claimed that the collar “wasn’t meant to be detached” when charged. The problem is the collar would pull up on the charging device so it would not charge unless I did detach. Customer service wouldn’t believe me and made me video and measure the back of my collar. I was a few days after the warrantee and finally was able to get an appointment for a phone call. The woman talked in circles with me for an hour and clearly had no authority to do anything but listen. She told me I was “just lucky to get a call” and that “is not typically a service they provide”- all of it wavered between laughable and insanely frustrating. Do yourself a favor- if you are really purchasing this because you care about your pet DO NOT PURCHASE. You will be left frustrated and with a defective device like so many of us in the comments.

Bad product/bad customer service

I have an English bulldog, so nothing crazy running, jumping, swimming or high activity happening. I originally bought the fi collar in oct 2021, sometime around mid November the thin metal faceplate came off and the tracker stopped working. I emailed customer service and they sent a replacement saying the metal decal was integral to the interworkings of the collar. Cool. Last October 2022 the metal decal plate is missing again, collar still worked for another month. I reached out to customer service again because it shouldn't come off this easily. They had already charged me for the year renewal and said I needed to buy another one myself since the purchase was Oct 2021 and when I said no they told me they wouldn't prorate back the remainder of the year for the renewal. So now I have a second dead collar and $110 annual fee for nothing. So far haven't heard back about shutting off the auto renewal. When it did work the tracking was fantastic.
